Jonny B wrote:What does Kamelot sound like nowadays? The only album I've heard was their debut "Eternity," which my bro calls 'The Crimson Glory Impersonation Album.' I always figured they're more Power Metal, but now that I hear the word 'gothic,' it's starting to catch my interest in buying one of their recents.
I would describe their music as a mix between power metal and progressive metal. Think Queensryche with neo-classical influences, because Khan sounds reminiscent of Geoff Tate at times. I haven't heard Eternity, but between Dominion and everything that followed is a world's difference. They grew more subtle and catchy.
My favourites are Karma and Epica but you may like The Black Halo better, because of the duet and the more prominent symphonic arrangements, hence the gothic I heard in it.
