You're the one already on the Saints pogo stick so I have no rebuttal. If you don't admire what the dude, at 40 years old, brings to the quarterback position then you just don't get things. The dude's an iron man and when he retires, the NFL's toughness bar will drop significantly. All these pampered ass, pussy ball players today aren't even close to being in Favre's league.
YoungJRNY wrote:Sorry, Saints played TERRIBLE. IF it wasn't for the TERRIBLE fumbles, esp on the goaline, the Vikes are on their way to 44. Plus, that ball before the kick hit the ground. Maybe it's not in Favre's legacy. Last two Championships, ending in 2 picks. Terrible ending, ONCE AGAIN. He shouldn't go out this way. Regardless, congrats Saints fans for takin care of business.
I hope Manning tears them a new asshole.

You could see them plain as day in the replays. That last catch in OT was NOT a catch by any means. He didn't have control and the ball hit the ground. It is true that the Vikings beat themselves for the most part with the turnovers, but the late hits on Farvie were not getting called as often as they were happening. And that "touchdown" in the 2nd quarter should have been challenged because his knees hit before any ball crossed a line.

Still doesn't change the fact that he's a shit teammate. Ask his former teammates with the Pack. Jerking them all around a couple of years ago with his sham of a retirement. It was all just a ploy to get out of his contract. He tried smearing the Packers organization just so he wouldn't tarnish his legacy in Green Bay. He could have been a man and asked for his release instead of "retiring". But he didn't. Why? He wouldn't have been thought so highly of stating, "I want out of my contract so I can go sign with the Vikings." Would he? He screwed with the Packers and his teammates that suited up and protected and played with him.
A couple weeks after "retiring" and hearing the Packers state how excited they were to start the Rodgers era. He throws a feeler out about getting the itch to come back. The Packers tell him to give them the word and they'll call another presser to announce he's changed him mind and coming back to the team.
Not getting the response he expected, he says he's staying retired. So he intentionally tries to bring harm to the roster/or get his release by waiting until after the Packers draft 2 QB's in the draft to add needed depth at the position, then he comes out and says he wants to play again. Imagine being a teammate to that asshole! They're trying to get to the next step and your "ironman" QB is working to destroy it. No admiration for him at all! In fact I have more admiration for Michael Vick. At least he came out and admitted what he did and that he lied and ultimately paid a heavy, heavy price.

I couldn't have fucking said it better myself. Fuck Favre and his fuckin harem of admirers. The fact of the matter is the guy should always be remembered for two things: (1) Being a scumbag, disloyal teammate and (2) Being a perennial playoff choke. Fuck him.
BTW: How long until we start hearing from the media about all the injuries Favre was supposedly playing with this season or at least in the NFC Championship game? Today? Wednesday? End of the week? A month from now? LOL
X factor wrote:The Saints did not play a "terrible" game. They played very hard against a strong D and a very determined legendary QB. Did they get a break or two? Yeah, but SO DID THE VIKINGS! Also, those turnovers didn't just "happen". The Saints opportunistic D MADE most of them happen. And in the end, the Vikes killed themselves with that stupid 12 man penalty.
I TRULY can't see how anyone could begrudge a city and franchaise that has been through what NOLA and the Saints have a trip to the Superbowl.

I'm talking about the fans that populated the "DOME"
losing season after losing season and still showed up
w/hope!!
I'm especially proud for the S'port fans who
held their ground and stood by their sad state of a
team for lifetimes, while CONSTANTLY surrounded by Cowboy Fans w/in
your face mentalities. This recent at home loss was probably the worst!
It's all about geography, folks ...![]()
Yeah, there were bad calls, missed calls and unchallenged calls just like
every other game and we're the experts that could've made the difference!!
Saints "D" needs plenty of work and once the people from DAWN save Peterson's
hands, his little legs will take him far (love him)!! I'm sad that this is the
way Favre may go out!! I'm a fan of his career and in awe of his talent, he played
a great game, but he looked frail and much older than his years...it's time!!
I personally dislike the fact that this Victory is being tied in w/the whole Katrina
Disaster... while it may bring a tear to many an eye, it pisses other's off!!
It's not about receiving a reward for having experienced a disaster, it's about
hard work, hiring the right people, putting together a winning team and HARD WORK!!
Cheers to all you SAINTS FANS, you give us hope...
