I called my daughter's school and talked with the Principal to see what their intentions are. I asked if she'd consider showing it the next day but she thinks its important that the kids see it live. I don't understand. She said I was welcome to send a note in excusing Ally from watching it...but that would be creepier than Obama directly speaking to students I think...especially on the first day to Kindergarten. So I guess I'll just talk with her and explain that a President is someone you listen to and respect but he or she isn't always right. She's only 4..(5 in 3 weeks)..I don't know if I should even say anything and at the same time still don't understand why there is a long speech being given to her?
I'm thinking that there is a 90% chance this is just silly...but a 10% chance that he's trying to influence young children politically...I guess that 10% is enough to concern me. I just don't want him to say something about paying attention in Science class so you can learn about the dangers of Global warming.....you know, something like that.
