For technical/talent he should easily be on the list, great player no matter what band he's in. Not my absolute favorite, as I prefer more feeling players like Schon, Beck, Kotzen. But he's definitely up there.

I love VH as much as anybody (or maybe not), but no, he can't. The thing with Ed is he's locked into his own game and I've never heard him play anything outside the box as far as VH is concerned. A lick from "One I Want" on VHIII could've been a lick from "A.F.U." on OU812 and nobody would notice. Not that that's a bad thing.

Billy Sheehan is pretty f'in amazing. I saw Mr. Big open for Rush on the Presto tour at the Forum (8th row or something like that). Good times.

That said, I like him for what he does with Niacin, not Mr. Big. :lol:

Which makes him what? A great engineer. Guitarist? That's speculative, but he's not, in my estimation in the league of the players on that list.

Exactly. The dude's an engineer many more times than he is a "musician." He's more about recording sounds than playing instruments.
