Amy Winehouse is dead

General Intelligent Discussion & One Thread About That Buttknuckle

Besides murders and child molesters isn't hell supposed to be where all the fags go? And the muslims ...and the athiests.. and the promiscuous nymphos? And the heavy drinkers and potheads? and all the people who had sex before marriage and were never saved?
Actually, who the fuck is left to go to heaven and are they the type of people we would to spend eternity with anyhow?

As the great Compo Simonite said (and I will paraphrase here)"If heaven's full of nothing more than conservatives, old maids and teetotalling virgins, I don't want to bloody go."

RIP Amy Winehouse. I pray you found God in your last moments and that you are shining in heaven.

What if she didn't? Where is she?

I'd like to believe there isn't a hell, but I have seen too much crap going on in my short time on this earth to believe otherwise. I don't know what her relationship was with God, so I am not going to judge it. I hope she is in heaven because once you're in hell it is too late.

So you believe in hell? I kinda liked Amy. Sang a good song, never hurt anyone other than herself. Let's hope she found the light eh?

I believe in God and I believe there is a hell. We have a choice. That is what I believe.

I hope she had a belief in God and that Jesus was her savior. That is what I hope. If she didn't believe, according to the Bible she is in hell. THE thought of that is worse than death.

Right, so for the simple fact of not believing, with the brain that your god gave her, she goes to hell. Would that apply to someone who is not a drug addict and who devoted their life to helping others? I'd like to know where the line is?

It has nothing to do with being a drug addict, a sex addict, a child molestor, or a person who helps others. ALL can go to hell for denial of christ as their personal savior and not seeking forgiveness for whatever their personal sins are. Everyone sins and fall short in the eyes of God, but it doesn't have to be that way.

And we're happier for doing all those things? A lot of our happiness is short lived. Why else would we have to keep looking for the next vice to make us happy?

So, just so I'm straight on this; if the guy in Norway who murdered 100 or so people says he believes in God he will go to heaven, whereas the drug addict who harmed nobody except themself, but does not believe goes to hell?

The person in Norway was an extremist, who as far as I am concerned doesn't know God. It more than just saying I believe in God. Anyone can say I believe in God but not really believe it in their heart. If you have a strong conviction of your actions will usually follow.

What I was saying about the drug addict, sex addict, etc , is that are all worthy of forgiveness and can still come to God, but are not supposed to sin no more.. Once your dead your fate is sealed at that point.

So basically the mass murderer can say he believed in is heart in god and he goes to heaven. The poor lamb, who wasted their talent, but hurt nobody goes to hell.

I'm wondering where I stand. I give money to charity as and when I can afford to do so. I try to be a good guy, I fuck up sometimes, but I try and make ameds when i do. I don't believe in any god. Am I going to hell?

Still a shame - she was reputed to be quite a talent for the brief time she used it professionally.

I just think it is sad for anyone to get started on drugs in the first place. It usually trashes a persons life where they live each moment to be comatose. Life is not guaranteed to be good or bad for anyone. Life is life. I feel sorry for her and anyone who lets their life end so tragically.

As far as God goes, I don't believe he targets anyone to die. You stand in front of a train your going to get plowed. You do to much drugs and alcohol you going to poison your body. He also gave us common sense. I don't believe for one second he wants us in hell.

Look each believes what they feel best about. God, no God. That is a choice. But it is never a happy situation when someone dies of self abuse. It doesn't have to end in that manner.

The whole point of a savior is that everyone can be saved. There is more than one kind of sin; a person can be good in the eyes of the world, but still be a sinner going to hell. Belief in God like anything is a willful choice. What that guy did in Onslo is a willful choice, but he still has time to turn his life around. Once you die, time is up. He WRONGLY took out a lot of good people yesterday. He will pay for that. Even more so if he doesn't TRULY seek God's forgiveness and turn away from his SIN.. Yet I believe he can go to heaven. The drug addict, anybody can be in the presence of the lord, but you have tp seek him. We don't know when our time will be and that is the point. We need to be ready so we won't be trying to set our lives straight within the last minutes of our lives if we even have the coherency of that.

I can't make anyone believe something they don't want to believe. The only thing I suggest is to really pray and read your bible. If you do these things with an open heart God will come to you.

I wasn't saying that God sends people to hell. Quite the opposite, but kind of like you are saying, there are natural laws. When we stretch our bodies too far due to abuse we sometimes break. In her case, it ended in death. I think IT IS AWFUL. Such a waste of talent. Even more so, I hope all is well with her soul.

The wise man suspends judgment....just saying. For anyone to claim there is a 'god', I'm here to tell you you are a liar....and to anyone who says there isn't...I'll tell you the same thing. I love debating the topic, but that's the long and the short of it....I fell asleep, woke up..and now can't fall back asleep...so if anyone wants to chat about this - I'm here til the nyquil kicks in....

I don't know what to believe anymore. I sometimes can't imagine us being a biological freak of nature and other times I think that's exactly what we are. Just got lucky being the right distance from a small star. But I flip flop back and forth. It's very frustrating not knowing.

At times I feel as though the world and the universe has to be on purpose just by the sheer scope of the 'perfection' of things, the order....but at other times i wonder to what end? The 'god' depicted in scripture, and by know-it-alls paints a very sad story. How could a 'god' allow what goes on in the world today? Why would he allow that terrorist bombing, or 9/11....or even what happened to that little Anthony girl? I read all sorts of quantum physics/mechanics books, astrophysics books...and when you actually read just how ordered things are, like being at the precise distance from the sun to sustain life, as well as being the exact size - it kind of makes you wonder. I think about this all the time, and am often sad that I won't be around when someone finally pulls back the curtain......
