I can't spin it. I didn't like it. I could barely hear Jeff. Still it was cool to see him on TV.

It was one song on an AI stage, the tour is a 2+ hour show with a stellar production/design team. Pretty sure Jeff is going to be doing his fair share of the songs. But I really like alot of Queen songs, so I really enjoyed it. Have to say though I'm curious as all hell to see who is going to get which songs!

No one is gonna pay to see the guitarist, drummer and bass player who play note for note perfect performances of the originals..
People wanna hear those songs sung like the record... like Freddie... because Freddie's the one we miss.. and Marc is the closest they're gonna get...
I don't want it close, I just want it done well with a slightly different take. Jeff does that. So do others. If I want a clone I have many Queen DVD's to watch.
Clones are not at all interesting.
Didn't we all used to make fun of Elvis impersonators?
I also wish the douchebag guitarist who did the back flip would have fell on his fucking head!

ya that backpflip was lame...
That's just the thing with Marc tho... There's a point where it sonically crosses that point, that its not even spooky or tribut-ish, its just mesmerizing. With Marc I think it that point gets crossed.. his natural singing voice is SO similar to Freddie, in timbre and range.m that there is nothing forced or faked.
With Jeff.. while he can sing Queen with the same inflection and phonics... if he tied to imitate Freddie tonally would be obvious... his voice isn't tonally similar to Freddie's... Jeff knows this... and sings like himself.. and he sounds GREAT...

I just can't take Marc. But sure he is talented. I don't begrudge him I just can't stand it.

I'm afraid yer gonna be in the minority there brother... this fella Martel has paid his dues, he's no Youtube discovery..... he's been in the same band "Downhere" since 2001, and they've released 6 studio albums to date... been nominated for Juno awards (they're a Canadian band)... and have loads of other accolades...
G.I.Jim wrote:I think the main singer was amazing, and honestly I wish it would have just been him out there with Queen. He's amazing, and the closest out there by a mile. I didn't care for watching a whole group of singers out there doing their awkward fist pumping, and it looked very unnatural. Also, the other singers (no disrespect to Jeff) sound nothing like Freddie. Just give me a show with the main singer, the guys from queen, and I'd pay good money for that ticket!

And isn't it funny how Mr. May's belief system changes when there are a few extra bucks for him to make and stuff in his pocket. Never underestimate the power of money, or place to much credence in the words of a successful rock musician.

Appearing next week on American Idol ..."Lemmy Kilmister" .....
As a contestant.

The Glee-ification of Queen makes me fucking sick.
I've had to fight against people thinking queen were popularist naff commercial fluff for decades and now this.
I will always have my childhood memories of listening to Queen, and discovering their majesty, but now I would not go out of my way to even nod at Roger or Brian in the street

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Now in a town near you: the Queen Circus Orchestra Extravaganza Thingy. Doing everything they said they'd never do. Come and see!

I'm going because Jeff is on it but Martel gives me the creeps.

wow that was adult... nice.... way to turn my comment about Lambert/Queen into a personal attack at me...
Just thinking the Lambert/Queen thing through... I'd really be surprised if Lambert joins Queen... he's "out"... Freddie was not.. he's a solo artist... Freddie was a "band guy"... Lambert never has been...
suck cock and swallow much Ed? (see I can make it personal too.. or would you like to act more civilized and stay on topic?)
