I just got back from the movie and I really enjoyed it! Even for those of you who are not Tom Cruise fans, it was a fun movie full of action and comedy and I don't regret paying my $9 admission. (And for the women, Tom Cruise has his shirt off in quite a few scenes of the movie, but the nudity was not gratuitous at all)

It looked knight and day better than that garbage Killers....but then I read a review that said it was bit of a mess and didn't really work....I like both cruise and Cameron, though she is a little annoying at times. Rental at some point

It definitely isn't an action movie like
Heat -
Knight and Day is an action/comedy, so it's fun, but not particularly realistic. Here a new rental is $6 and the theatre is $9, so for me it was worth the money to see it at the theatre and enjoy the big screen. And Tom Cruise - I've liked him since the Summer of '86 when
Top Gun came out! Cameron Diaz's character June was great too and I really liked her in this. I could not sit through 5 minutes of the
Charlie's Angels movies, so I haven't really liked the characters she's played since
My Best Friend's Wedding unless you count
Shrek.
For some reason Cruise and Diaz don't seem to have much chemistry on screen, but the movie worked for me anyway because I liked the characters individually. Tom Cruise in a bathing suit didn't hurt either, but that's just me.

Yeah, it actually looked like they had some interesting setups...I think Cruise has had his ups and downs over the years, and just a little too much negative tabloid antics, but I mean...he's friggen Tom Cruise...a few good men, come on now.
Did you see his character at the MTV movie awards ? He played the character from Tropic Thunder...yellling at everyone ,it was pretty funny....
Still, Tom is a strange dude...Adam Carolla was telling a story a year ago about Tom coming over to Jimmy Kimmel's super bowl party at his house. He brought his mom and a batch of home made brownies. Adam thought it was funny, especially since everyone was drunk, Tom didn't / doesn't drink. Adam further went onto describe how out of place Tom seemed as Adam proceeded to do his touch down celebration where he mock craps a football out of his ass....he did say Tom knew a lot about fighter jets..
As for Cameron Diaz, I think she's alright, pretty diverse in some of her roles...miss her looks since 'The Mask'

I will see this. Tom puts out some great movies. He rarely lets you down. And his hair is back all thick again, not that flat combed-forward look he was rocking for a couple of years trying to look young. He looks really handsome again. Cameron is hitting the wall a little bit -- or was. She needs to stay out of the sun or whatever. The last movie I saw with her her face was a little on the harder side only because she was showing her age a little bit and she had a horrible fake tan going, which gave her the hard look.

I was at the movie theater the other day and they were filming one of those commercials where average people talk about how much they loved the movie... they told one of them to say "Tom Cruise is the greatest action hero of our day!"
HAHA RIGHT

+1. I think he is an arrogant ass and if I NEVER see him in another movie again it will be too soon.
....and yes, Rick, even Risky Business.

He certainly didn't do himself any favours when he started going off about psychology and former members of Scientology went on the Internet and let it be known what Scientology is really about. He got a bit too "Mr.Hollywood" for a while and didn't seem genuine anymore. But he always gives a great performance -
The Last Samurai was such an amazing movie. I still like his work and enjoy his movies.
I think actors are like rock stars - sometimes you have to separate the person from the performance. There is some music I love, but I have the feeling if I ever met the artist, I would not like the music anymore! I still like Tom Cruise - I think he is a very good person who has been handled by a cult and can't see it, but I'm not sure what it will take for him to see reality.

I agree...but I have a hard time seperating Cruise from himself...ever. I don't think he's that great. I always look at the screen and think, yeah, there's Tom.
Other actors fall into their rolls better - Robert Downey, Mel Gibson, Batman dude....
I do love Jerry McGuire though. And Top Gun..

Mel Gibson! His life has gone to the shitter according to the tabloids. He's wiped off my list for anything. Wouldn't even pull back the curtains to see him.

Born on the 4th of July and Rain Man, he was fantastic in both. Oscar worthy role in BOTFOJ. And in Rain Man he nailed his narcissistic character. He's, actually, a very talented actor. And I loved him in that movie with Gene Hackman, the Firm and in A Few Good Men.

Knight and Day was great... Saw it yesterday afternoon... good chemistry between Diaz and Cruise... good escapism and summer fun...the real trouble with this movie?? The trailers were out since what Feb??? I mean... come on...the movie would have been better served not to run the trailers for half the year before it came out...I think the public was sick and tired of seeing the movie trailers.

Knight and Day~# 3 at the box office ..
.Toy Story 3 ruled again ...GROWN UPS~#2 ...anyone seen this?!?! I want to!!
http://insidemovies.moviefone.com/2010/ ... ?icid=main
Besides having to compete with Sandler and Pixar, 'Knight' failed to overcome so-so reviews, Cameron Diaz's declining drawing power, a current lack of audience interest in this genre (see 'Killers' and 'The Bounty Hunter'), and Cruise's continuing failure to redeem himself from his publicity meltdown five years ago. Yes, his ongoing comic turn as Les Grossman has partially made up for that, and maybe his 'Tropic Thunder' spinoff will be a big hit, but right now, it looks like his career as a grinning action hero has jumped the couch.
lol ...
jumped the couch!!

I think there is a dangerous line that actors tread when they make their private lives and opinions public. I know that the papparazzi are everywhere, and it's hard to keep a private life in that regard, but with actors if the audience knows too much about them as people, it becomes impossible to suspend disbelief for their movies. Smile for the camera but keep your mouth shut.
I don't personally find Tom Cruise attractive, but I think he's an ok actor. He's got a limited range, but by and large he's played within that range and it's suited him well. The problem is, every time I see him where the character he plays is the least bit demanding, controlling, bullying or has a need to be seen a certain way, I stop seeing it as a character and I see it as a reflection of Tom Cruise. And in all honesty, I really don't understand why he's the big star he is; the man has made some good movies, but he's just not so good that he should have the kind of power Hollywood seems to be happy to give him.
Russell Crowe seems to be going the same way, which is a damn shame because he is a good actor with a very good range.

I'm already sick of hearing about Salt too and that's still a month away... I wonder if that'll have the same issue.

I liked Cameron Diaz in "My Best Friend's Wedding". I think the character she played was a perfect reflection on how I envisioned her real persona.

Seen this yesterday, my wife and I both really enjoyed this movie, is it great?
no, but its entertaining and has some really fun moments. IMHO T.C. is undervalued
as an actor, the pretty boy pinup image has hurt him along with his psyco scientist religion.

I saw
Grown Ups on the weekend and it was actually pretty funny! There were some creepy/juvenile humour moments (breastfeeding a four year old?

), but it is an Adam Sandler production, so I expected it. I'm not sure why the reviews were so bad - I got some good laughs out of it and the soundtrack is great. It isn't the best movie, but certainly worth the matinee price. I haven't seen
Hot Tub Time Machine, but I'm going to rent it now that it's on DVD - I can't pass up a movie about time travel to the 80s!
