I used to defend the Stampede guys to death when all those animal rights nut-jobs came out of the woodwork (and believe me, I am an animal lover, just didn't agree with their methods), but I don't know - something's obviously not going right this year :(

My mistake - it's 6, not 10 (still too many) - and it's not clear in all cases. They same some from 'natural causes' (heart attack?) and some from injuries in a couple different events. Having worked down there a couple of summers many years ago, I used to find the whole rodeo thing very exciting - and the cowboys/helpers do love and take great care of the animals. But I can't even watch on TV anymore - especially the Chuckwagon races. Exciting? - I guess - but many drivers, outriders and horses have been killed over the years and it's just too much. Anyone who has never seen those races - go to Youtube.
I'd rather watch weiner dog races- saw a clip of that on the morning news today - it's hilarious!

I hear ya, haven't been to the Chucks or Rodeo in years and years. Don't even watch the coverage on tv. If I go at all it's to buy tix for the home, 5th wheel, car, etc., see all the exhibits and maybe catch some free shows on the Coca-Cola stage.......had some good ones this year like Loverboy, Glass Tiger, and Martina McBride today, etc.

It's all because of man-made global warming and George Bush... I looked it up!
