It's the 1,000 hard core fans there every night who want what we want, but the other 8 or so thousand that bitch. They can't afford to lose their audience. And b/c they haven't heard the songs (radio) they get blank stares when they roll out something new. All the more reason to do like J28 suggested a while back and mix in some theaters for the likes of us abnd their own sanity.

JJester- I like how you start out with a "frigg" then a "fuck" then a "shit" then culminate with a "Bitch slap." Trust me, she is pure garbage and doesn't know a thing about Journey except that they have a new lead singer who isn't an asshole.

By the way, JJester, You need to be directing your anger at Assoff...That fucker is robbing the band blind by sleeping all day.

How do you know this? I would really like to know. Please, don't run and hide, please come forth with facts. I see a lot of Ebay sales. Hell I lost out on 3 of them.

I want you to prove to not only me, but the rest of the Board and Andrew himself, how you "didn't mean it that way." You are pathetic.

I just exposed you HOTS. Beat It!

I agree with jrnyjetster. I was really looking forward to seeing the band next month, but now I assume I will only hear 1 or 2 tracks from Generations, and probably not get a CD. I know Journey has to appeal to the majority of fans, but I think the fans coming to the show I am going to will be hardcore fans, since the cheapest ticket is $85 (close to $100 after service charges). This kind of fan would like to hear more than 1 or 2 songs off the new CD. Maybe I am just saying that b/c I have had time to listen to Generations...

My takey

Postby Eric » Wed Aug 03, 2005 10:34 pm

1) If you are playing a 3 hour show AND have a new CD out you should be playing more than 1 or 2 songs off of it...PERIOD...especially if you have time to play Mystery Mountain and Nickle and Dime.

2) There is no CD giveaway now? There had better damn well be.

3) I have no way to know for sure of course, but I don't think the VIP packages are selling well everywhere. I mean you can buy 8 tix in row 10th row center for the Darien Lake show after all tickets have been on sale for at least 6 weeks now.

Well, I have heard that the CD has not been given away at some venues that have policies against it. If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all, so I am figuring I won't get one.

They have billed this as a celebration of all eras of Journey, so they have to play something off of the first three CDs. Maybe Journey plans to give the CD away this summer at their shows, then when they tour next summer we will hear 7 or 8 tunes off Generations.

Does anyone have attendance (and capacity) figures for the shows they have played thus far? 28, this seems like a job for you...

Journey should play more songs from their current album. New songs in concert eventual become older songs that fans want to hear.

Digging the new avatar, NIG. Still not the real NIG avatar but your look for Ndeal stays consistent. That axe is beautiful, too. What's that like Cherry? Mahogany?
ESC4PE era too.

I believe it is a vintage sunburst Gibson Les Paul. Glorious guitar.

Yeah, I am sticking with this avatar for a while. It's my favorite Neal era.

Remember when he had his own line of guitars? I wanted one so bad. I wonder if he still does that. Anyone know?

I agree jrnyjester! I want to hear new music from Generations, because the new album is awesome! I don't care to hear old stuff for the umpteenth time. How many times can you go to an oldies concert?

I think Neal at one point had problems with the distribution or some such thing. :( Too bad, 'cause he has the best..... :) AND the greatest looking guitars.

Also R Jackson had a line of Bass g's too.

Unfortunately, no. You can still find one, or body blanks,
on ebay from time to time but that's about it.

Last night they played Faith In The Heartland, Every Generation and Out Of Harm's Way. Sure I would have liked more, but it was great. They did not get blank stares, the crowd may have been sitting but there was no extra movement to the beer tent or restrooms. They intro'd the songs well and it worked! Short review to follow.

NealIsGod:
If you REALLY want one, you can still get one. Neal was originally doing them with Jackson guitars (I remember liking the guitar when I checked it out in the guitar mag ads), then possibly another company, but he but doesn't manufacture them anymore. Hasn't for quite some time. However, Ed Roman in Las Vegas (a big retailer of guitars and he also owns his own guitar manufacturing businesses) bought the remainder of the inventory of body parts, and if you contact his store, he can build you one for a price. It might be a little expensive, but it would be one BADASS guitar. Here's the info. It states he has 40 in stock.
