As far as Perry sitting in for a few songs, well what exactly dosen't he understand about, "There's no going back?"

Did you actually read what the man said?

Neal: "I'm just trying to clear the air from all this happy horseshit that has been on the internet about me and why Steve Perry is not in the band and it's all Neal Schon's fault. I'm mean, there has always been an open door – I invited him in front of TV, I invited him on the radio to be there, I said you need to be there and I'm really glad he showed up.
And I'd be glad if he turned up tonight and wanted to sit in on two songs."

Neal was simply saying Perry is welcome to sit in and that is in response to the people who say big bad Neal chased Perry out of Journey. Don't you remember all those threads several months back about how Neal should be the bigger man and just ask Perry to go the WOF, just ask Perry to bury the hatchet. Well, he did--he did it on radio, on tv and in person. Now you think he should not have said that? No matter what he says, someone thinks it is the wrong thing.

There is also a big difference between sitting in for a couple songs and being back in Journey. Perry is the one who said "you never know" when asked about popping up at a Journey show. Perry originally said he couldn't see himself showing up at the WOF ceremony--and there he was.

Maybe should start doing "warm up" shows over in Japan again. That way Steve will ve "ready" when Jounrey hits the States!

Well, like Schon said, Augeri has his vocal coach with him and hopefully that will get him through this tour. Certainly wish Journey would come to my neck of the woods!

Well, given that this was after the first or 2nd show, I think it stands to reason that Neal "did not know" that NO guests would have shown...

The more pertinent question is, what exacty don't YOU and ur witch coterie understand about Perry's words?
The main said it himself, he aint comin back.

Are the guests supposed to be invited or are they just supposed to show up.

Is Neal saying that the reason that SS didn't get to first base here stateside, is because his association with Journey wasn't allowed to be advertised? I mean like, it's Neal Schon, but since they couldn't also state that he was Journey's lead guitar, that no one knew who he was? Bummer!

How weird is that, to redo Generations? People will laugh! It's like having to take your drivers test, time after time, until you get it sufficiently right. They can do that with an album and get away with it?

The ad in the Washington Post for the Birchmere show was something like:

April xx: Soul Sirkus Featuring NEAL SCHON OF JOURNEY Jeff Scott Soto Marco Mendoze Virgil Donati

So, most promoters probably ignored that rule about associated Neal Schon with Journey.

Greggie, there's a Virginia Beach show later this summer I think...
What do mean "Get away with it," HOTS? It's their album, not licensed to anyone in the US yet so it's Neal's band Journey's album to do with as they please even if they want to rerecord Open Arms and call it Your Open Arms to get around the legalities. Who would they be getting away with something on?

Yea, check it man. It's supposed to be a place like right on the beach....someone here will pull the date for you. If not, it's on the band's site (worth it now b/c of the intro/tour promo alone) under the "On THe Road" part or whatever they call their tour tab.

I am indeed wondering. Your BEST stuff should be given to the fans, something the band is totally behind and proud of

Are you being serious, or antagonistic?

Sure they rushed it, and slapped it together, and got it to the fans...for FREE!! What's wrong with redoing it, refining it, and selling it as a better product?

PF, you really are funny. When I see your flag waving, I start laughing before I read the first word...I mean you are simply pathetic.
Oh, by the way, Generations is awesome. You should feel free to take "Street Talk" out, and insert a better CD. A "rushed Generations" is a Helluva lot better than a perfected "Street Talk."

I don't think it will happen. And if it does, I think it will be JUST the drum sound. Neal has already almost admitted to the fact that they were 'rushed'. BUT, since this is the version being given away (virtually) for free, I have NO problem with the fact that it is 'not perfect' in their ears.

I do not want them to change anything personally. But if the tweak the sound I am sure it will be cool. Adding the extra tracks will please many fans AND it will give everyone a reason to BUY the CD. Makes sense.

In fact, I had suggested that Journey hand out a "sampler" of Generations so that there WOULD be a reason to buy it later. When I was at the show I heard a couple of 'kids' (about 19 years old) commenting that they thought it was going to be adisc with only 2-3 songs. They were quite surprised that they were getting a full CD. Now, I guess they did not. But this WILL help with the selling of "Generations" in the States.

You professedly don't like this band, so why are you here again?

Umm yeah, that's what I thought.
Your lucky Andrew even allows you to post here.

This kind of smaks of Coke and New Coke...

Remember Coca-Cola put out an inferior product, people HAD to try it, and then the people reverted back to Original Coke.

I am not saying Journey did this..I don't think Azoff Mgt. has the brains or gumption to pull that idea out of his wrinkled old ass...but the theory fits, and it is a good idea if they do it.

I would like to think of this as another case of the band listening to the fan response of their product and adressing it. In theis day and age, without a label, doing it themselves, Journey can do this if they want to.

If the D.C. date is on a weekend, then maybe - although I'd rather go to VA beach if I was going to travel 5 hours to see a Journey concert. Are either one of those dates on the weekend? If not, can't do it! However, if they came back to Greensboro, North Carolina or Winston-Salem, NC, or Roanoke, Virginia - then I would definitely make the trip to see them there during the week since those places are only an hour from me.

What can I say? I have a software job during the week that I have just started....I can't afford to ask off.

NIG, ever heard the term "spin doctoring." That's exactly what Perry would do. What could he say? He couldn't say he was forced out, because he wasn't. He couldn't say he wished he were still there, because he doesn't. He did say he was wanting to tour in BTM, but of course hasn't. He is just so full of shit. He would just continue to lie through his teeth, and he is obviously pissed Journey is doing just fine without him, hence he will NEVER interview on the subject of Journey again, IMO...He will lose on all fronts; Besides, Andrew doesn't interview retirees.
