Dude, you are in Virginia. They are playing DC.. You can make the trip..You expect them to play your city hall?

Look up Amtrak or Greyhound...Whats a couple hours?

I drove 5 hours the other week, and yes, it was worth it.

If the D.C. date is on a weekend, then maybe - although I'd rather go to VA beach if I was going to travel 5 hours to see a Journey concert. Are either one of those dates on the weekend? If not, can't do it! However, if they came back to Greensboro, North Carolina or Winston-Salem, NC, or Roanoke, Virginia - then I would definitely make the trip to see them there during the week since those places are only an hour from me.

What can I say? I have a software job during the week that I have just started....I can't afford to ask off.

dude, have you ever come to a frontiers show?

Andrew, have you tried to get an interview with Perry? Your interviews with Deen and Neal were great. I would love to read an interview between you and Perry. You ask great questions.

NIG, ever heard the term "spin doctoring." That's exactly what Perry would do. What could he say? He couldn't say he was forced out, because he wasn't. He couldn't say he wished he were still there, because he doesn't. He did say he was wanting to tour in BTM, but of course hasn't. He is just so full of shit. He would just continue to lie through his teeth, and he is obviously pissed Journey is doing just fine without him, hence he will NEVER interview on the subject of Journey again, IMO...He will lose on all fronts; Besides, Andrew doesn't interview retirees.

you know, in all defense to perry he did answer a lot of questions on fan asylum...not the most insightful of questions, but it was a cool thing to do.

Jeremy,
I am convinced I figured out his absence. I truly believe he cannot do it anylonger(sing). There is just no proud way of saying it publicly. He himself knows it, and can only throw up a facade that says I like privacy, blah blah blah. Whatever. I think I am right, so therefore, I am cutting HIM some slack, but not his Loons on here..They are flatout whacked in the skull..

Oh, by the way, yeah, I read those stupid assed questions..here ya go.

Hi Steve! What's your favorite color? Hi so and so, it's Cobalt blue Thanks for asking..

Steve, your voice is so important to me. Will you ever sing publicly again? I'm always leaving the door open..haha

Just stupid, softball questions..Like W being on Faux news..You know what he is going to get asked..It's a joke.

no, in the past 2 months we have played in IN, VA, NC, SC, and GA. Next week we are playing in Raleigh NC and Boonsboro MD.

We are based out of Roanoke, but only do about 2 shows a year in Southwest VA due to venue availabiltiy, etc.

Yes....they are based out of Roanoke, correct? If it's the same tribute band I am thinking of, my friend, Heather, is good friends with one of the guitarists in the band. My friends and I went back to his house (he lives like five minutes away from a couple of my other friends), and we played in his pool and got to relax in the hot tub! 8)

The lead singer looks like Steve Perry (with the short hair) and is the closest to Perry's voice out of everyone I have listened to including K.C. The last time I went to a concert was last year when they played outside at the Civic Center.

I hope this is the same band I am thinking of! :?: :?

Now, I am bad with names, but the one guy that my friend Heather knows is the bald guy (that actually looks more like Steve Smith!) He was telling me that when Perry had his long hair, they used to have Jeremy wearing the long wig and when Perry had cut his hair off, Jeremy didn't have to wear the wig anymore. Jeremy, is that true or did I completely screw that story up? LOL

Deano, Steve has already answered all the questions about Journey that he's been asked. Why should he keep repeating himself just because some of you choose to believe he's lying when you don't get the answers you want?

He's said:

He asked them to wait until he had decided what to do about his health and they didn't want to.

He asked them not to use the Journey name with another singer and they wouldn't change the name.

He's never seen or heard the current band perform and doesn't plan to.

He doesn't plan to perform with them again.

He thinks about doing some things musically, but hasn't decided on anything.

What more do you want to know?

Jeremy and his group have played very near where I live in VA the past couple of summers. I wanted to go so bad, but because of various circumstances I didn't get to. Several people that I talked to that were there said they really did a great show.

Maybe if you do another "Uncle Billy's" I'll get to see you Jeremy.

LOL....well I hope I don't get blasted for saying this, but I have bigger priorities involved with my life than to spend the money it would take to drive a long distance to see Journey. I'm currently in the process of trying to buy a house along with saving for a honeymoon AND saving for health insurance for my soon to be wife who is diabetc and will still be in college for another year after we are married. Of course, after the first year and after she gets her career going, we could definitely make traveling to see Journey a reality! :) As long as I take her to see Billy Joel or Cowboy Mouth... :P

Of course now, if someone was nice enough to pay for our tickets, I would definitely take it under consideration!

Actually Neal and Jon are on record stating they are not too keen on the idea of cover bands.
I believe Jon Cain once deemed them a "nuissance".
So in effect, what Jeremy does is actually a defiance (only not to the band member(s) you are enraptured with).

Well does Neal think Perry playing Jrny songs solo is a "defiance?"

yes, to certain members of Journey, what we do appears to be a nuisance to them. too bad for them. we do this because the songs mean so much to so many people, including us, and my voice sounds a lot like steve perry. no disrespect to anyone in the band actually, but i could really care less what the band thinks of what we do, nuisance or otherwise. stewart copeland hires a police tribute band to perform at his birthday party...jonathan cain calls journey tribute bands an "odd nuisance." i can't worry about that. i'm just enjoying sharing my love for this music in the coolest way possible.

Jeremy, is that true or did I completely screw that story up? LOL

okay, let me tell the wig story...when we first put together frontiers, the idea was the real "tribute" idea, where i wanted very much to look like steve perry and make the show more of a visual performance type thing. now, the truth of the matter is that the only thing that mattered to me was the songs and singing them. don't get me wrong, i spent a lot of money on that little furry bugger, but it was not natural and I was never comfortable with it. In fact, it became a huge preoccupation with me during my performances. I was always worried about it, and I thought it looked stupid. I thought I looked enough like steve perry to get the idea across without the wig, and it would let me focus on singing the songs without having to worry if the stupid thing was on straight. I'm a pretty active guy on stage, and it sucked having to worry if my hairline was across the middle of my forehead.

so after the first year, i dropped it, and focused more on getting the performance the best it could be. i didn't want to worry about whether we were a tribute like "zoso" or "paradise city," a couple of zeppelin/GNR bands who dress in costume and do the whole look a like thing. all i could worry about was getting the music off my chest during the show, and i'm glad i'm able to do what i do with a lot less anxiety....

peace, lick ass...
