Hooooray! -
Well, they could do the press release thing. But, they would have to go on radio, do interviews in the venue's area, do internet interviews. GET THE WORD OUT.
The point isn't just to sell Augeri era music....It is to fill up every seat in whatever venue they chose. It is to at least ATTEMPT to create a bit of a buzz for the DVD concert, and the tour in general.
Also, I didn't say "majority of obscure Augeri-era songs". I said a set of at least 1/3 Augeri era songs, including the new songs. So, I would say maybe 10 Augeri era songs at most, including any new songs.
All 500 members of BackTalk simultaneously erupt into applause and the rest of the world keeps going about its business same as before.
Who cares.
I'm sure BT would be going wacko for the DVD etc. Hopefuly, they could AT LEAST get the area where the DVD was being filmed a bit excited. If not, then Journey may as well just give up on releasing any 'new' CD's or DVD's and ONLY tour. What's the point, if nobody cares?
Oh, and one other thing - Journey should accept the deal with Universal...for a NEW album, not Generations.
Look, I doubt very much that anything dramatic is going to happen with Journey in the next few years. I doubt they'll sign to a label. I doubt they'll push any new music for radio or any other public outlet. They'll continue to tour and MAYBE perform new songs....But, I really don't expect much more then that.
