Jon Cain Preview from the Front Page

"And on continuing the touring into 2006: "Yeah, we're going to try some new places if we can get there – if someone will have us we'll try and do the European thing. Who knows where we will wind up. I'm hoping Frontiers will do a nice job and maybe somebody will pick up the record and buy it and we'll get a little action out of it. I'm not going to hold my breath, but that's what we are trying to do."

Kind of sad that the guys don't have much faith. Seems to me like the guys should be pushing, they should show their confidence, they should be making Frontiers do a "nice job". Not just 'hope' and essentially 'give up'. But then, Jon has been pretty jaded about the rock music/business scene for quite some time.

It sounds like Jon has a lot to say in the interview though...should be a good read.

....and also this comment was part of the preview. An afternoon with "his buds" huh? I am giving this one some thought

On the Walk Of Fame induction and Steve Perry turning up - Jon Cain: "It was incredible. It was great because it reaffirmed my faith that people are soulful. I knew Steve Perry had it in him to drop anything he was holding onto for a second and enjoy an afternoon with his buds. And he did?and so I went to sleep with a smile on my face thinking 'You know what?I though he was a cool guy you know!' I just needed to see it. We all did."
"In Journey, all the hit songs we had were based around Steve Perry's vocals."

I noticed that too. But I think it just shows that Neal and Jon have gotten over it. They say they are ready to move on, they talk about having buried the hatchet, and they truly seemed to want Perry there. I doubt Perry is ready to be "buds" but the other guys at least act like they are. Hopefully, at the very least, they can all communicate when it concerns Journey.

That just goes along with the chat I had with Jon at the JPP luncheon -- He was as amazed as anyone that Perry showed up, but really pleased. I wish I had had a camera at that moment 'cause the look on his face when he asked me "What about Perry showing up?" said it all -- it was the same look *I* had on my face when Perry showed up.
