Day in Rock reports: Fun fact, according to MTV Tommy Lee was the original "rock star" that producers had in mind for the show that became "Tommy Lee Goes to College". It turns out that the show's creator originally planned to have the show revolve around former Journey frontman Steve Perry, who inspired the idea. Perry turned down the gig because he didn't want to be humiliated on TV. Guess Steve forgot about the "Separate Ways" and "Oh Sherry" videos.
