Two Perry questions...

....did anyone ever hear ANYTHING about these??? I remember reading/hearing something about them a while back and was wondering if there was any truth to either of them.

1. Steve's last name is not originally Perry, but Perreira or something like that.
2. The village/town his ancestors are from in the Azore Islands off of Portugal built a bronze statue of Perry in the village square.

Again...these are what I recollect reading or hearing a while back and don't know if there is any truth to them. Has anyone heard/read anything similar????

That's pretty close OA. Actually, the statue is cast in gold.

I believe that I read somewhere that Steve's family changed their name from Perreira to Perry...............

But the one about a statue in his ancestor's Azore Island........... that one I don't believe that unless someone comes up with evidence that it is true........

Steve's parents Americanized their last name from Pereira (pear tree) to Perry before he was born.

Never heard of the statue.

I have never heard of one, either. Maybe HOTS can prove it, just like she gave us proof of Perry's volunteer work.

Oh, come on! Of course there is. It was cast just after Perry signed the "no competition clause" and exited Journey and spent more time with the daughter he never had or talks about.
