Don't worry... Steve Perry will be back with Journey. Keep the faith! It's only been 8 years! He'll be back.

When he's not afraid of the sunshine that is. Unfortunately I have to break something to you: STEVE PERRY was only successful while he was with Journey. "For the Love of Shit" and "A Few Hits + a lot of filler" didn't sell jack shit as well and SP had to rely on Journey songs to get him through the FTLOS tour.

That's bogus.
Saw him last Saturday and he didn't miss one single note.
Even Perry couldn't have done it better.

Who do u think dreamt up the term "corporate rock"?

That doesn't detract from it's quality.

Yup, just how Perry's 'chicken coop builders of america' union card is still valid.

LOL. Of course Perry needs Journey. Journey thought they needed him, but it turns out they don't. Neal and Jon now have the keys to the Ferarri...

Whether Perry returns to music or not is not the issue. Instead, Journey is a horrible band without Steve Perry and even worse with Steve Augeri. He may be an easy interview but most "C" to "D" level talent are.

Can you explain to me why Neal Schon is a four time failure in marriage? Journey does need a good lead singer, and it will never be Steve Augeri. He really is one of the worst singers I had the displeasure of seeing three times.

Neal should sell his cars and give the money towards his alimony.

You're lying, Troll.
I saw Augeri last Saturday and he didn't miss one single note.
Even Perry couldn't have done it better.
You can't sing Journey songs with only "C" or "D" level talent.
Maybe you had the misfortune of catching him on an off night.

Yak, how come Journey is a worse band now, than when Steve Perry was the lead singer? Eight years of failure. I guess anything is considered a success for Augeri compared to when he worked at the Gap.

Steve Perry hasn't been a 'B' level talent since 1986. TBF, which if it wasn't shoved down the throats of every record station and music store in the US, wouldn't have sold 1 million copies on it's own. Face the facts, AOR in the US radio scene is DEAD.

My name is Journeytroll, and Steve Augeri is a lousy singer. Maybe after 15 watered-down beers, Augeri might be considered passable.

Face it, Journey really stinks and Augeri and Journey are a "C" to "D" level rock talent in 2005. This isn't 1983 anymore.

Finally, Phil Silvers was one of the worst entertainers of all time.

I don't see anything wrong in what Augeri did before singing for Journey. Everyone has to pay the bills somehow.
Perry used to fix chicken coops. Many aspiring actors wait tables.
Where's the shame in providing for yourself and your family?

Steve Perry and Journey had a super successful tour in 1986. "I'll Be Alright without You" is one of the best live videos from MTV.

Steve Perry retired as an "A" level talent. Remember, "When You Love A Woman" was nominated for a Grammy. Meanwhile, Arrival, Red 13, and wimpy Generations never get airplay from rock stations.

Who said there is shame at working at the Gap? I want to know if he is eligible for the 25% off Gap discount. I can guarantee that Augeri doesn't miss the broom pushing days at the Gap.

For health reasons, I cannot drink.
I did not drink at the concert and my perception was not in any ways influenced or impaired.
Augeri sounded flawless (better than the DVD).

JourneyTroll wrote:Face it, Journey really stinks

Yeah, apparently they stunk so bad you wasted ur hard earned cash to see them THREE times.
Sucker.

JourneyTroll wrote:Augeri and Journey are a "C" to "D" level rock talent in 2005.

I don't see what you base that on. I rank them an "A".

JourneyTroll wrote:This isn't 1983 anymore.

Ok, so why are you expecting Journey to be exactly the same as they were in 1983?

There's nothing wimpy about the new album. You obviously have not heard it. This shows me that you are frivolously spamming the boards right now.

I heard every song on Generations and thought they all were lousy. Happily, none of the songs will have airplay in MA/NH/RI.

WOOHOO!

Did they win? I mean, even Sir Mix-A-Lot can win a grammy with a song about asses.

Oh, and so much for momentum on that Grammy Nomination. SP became a recluse again shortly after.

I don't believe you.
This is Journey's most diverse album in ages (perhaps, ever).
There is something for fans of any era to enjoy on this release.

Rock critics have ALWAYS considered Journey a joke...so what is your point?

People who don't like Augeri even give him credit for being a pretty good showman.....where are your facts? Or is this just your narrow minded opinion?

Well said..I cam home from work, tired and down..I read all his spewing garbage, and I feel like running for Governor next year..Thanks for putting "him" into perspective.

If this page is not full of bait bait bait....If it were up to me, I would tear up this thread....

You know, I honestly don't think he attended a show this year..Firstly, He won tix..then he sold them..then they were too expensive, then the venue sucked......and NOW, he is saying he saw a HORRIBLE band three times? It is laughable, because he is lying...there is no desputing that...

I really shouldn't say this, but musically, Journey is a Hell of lot better than that picture of the big lips, troll.....but, you are entitled to your opinion(s), no matter how wrong they are..and they are.. :D

I knew I would get you back on this board.

Your farewell from here lasted as long as The Who's last farewell tour.

I attended three Journey shows in 2001, 2002, and 2003. I will never make that painful mistake again. The music of Journey was very good at all three shows, except it was way too loud in 2003. Steve Augeri was horrible at each show. His singing and showman stinks. I kept thinking, "I wish Steve Perry was up on the stage instead of this pale imitation."

You can state that Journey is better than The Rolling Stones freely here or anywhere else. I know plenty of people that love Journey and dislike the Stones. However, don't blame me that the Stones gets tons of airplay for their new album, and their 2005-2006 world tour has been huge. I'll even admit that the Stones's ticket prices are ridiculously high and their song selection for this tour is predictable.

How's Karl Rove doing, Deeno?

I promise to debate Journey without resorting to personal attacks. Will you make this promise too?

Why do you want to post on a Journey board if you do not like them? I hate the Stones, but I don't feel the need to go to a Stones board and try to piss people off. I just don't get it. It's weird.
