Pre Perry Set?

Has the Pre-Perry set been nixed altogether?

I know it was dropped for a bit after Cain's appendectomy (no clue how to spell that!).

But are they planning on bringing the Pre-Perry set back in?

If so, when?
“How did that sound?”

“Like Teddy Ruxbin hooked up to a car battery!”

NO, it hasn't...there were some shorter festival shows however that a full 3 hour set was not permitted. The Atlantic City shows were abbreviated because Jon was still healing, but didn't want to cancel those shows.

I'm not sure, but IMO, there should be a couple of the Pre-Perry songs mixed into the entire setlist. The band has GOT to open with a tune that gets the crowd on its feet and keeps them there.
To hear Jon or Ross ask the crowd to "bear with us," while they play the real old stuff, which they did in both NH and Conn, is uncomfortable.

"In Journey, all the hit songs we had were based around Steve Perry's vocals."

Absolutel not PF....The audience was becoming restless. Of course they did spring to life when the guys broke into Just The Same Way towards the end of the opening set.

I can confirm that Ross said that. I didn't know what to think of it to be honest.

I don't have a problem with it. It is letting the audience know that they are playing a few old songs, but that they will get to the hits as well. It is not the best choice of words, but it is far better than not acknowledging the material at all.
