I think it IS possible that his 'companions' were easy to put together, that is no problem. But I am curious why he felt the need to have them at all? Nobody else did. I know, I know....it was because he was such a HUGE star and no one else in the band ever was or will be...yeah, yeah, yeah. Spare me! Personally, it just exemplefies the big head he has...

This point IS a little more interesting. BUT, I think it is possible that he prepared for the appearance in advance...before deciding he was actually going to go. Kind of like 'well, if I was there, what would I want to say?'
boodles wrote:How did they know Steve was going to speak if know one knew he was coming? If it was planned that Jon was suppose to speak and he didn't get to because of Steve showing, shouldn't Jon be pissed?
I don't think Jon would be pissed at all. He, as all of them are, is a gentleman. Jon understands the impact Perry's appearabce would/did have. I am sure he was genuinely glad Perry was there, amd more than willing to let him take the time. In fact, there might have been a 'contingency plan' for IF Perry arrived. After all, Neal had been trying pretty hard to get Perry to show.

Maybe, but it doesn't really matter. If they knew, hey, it's cool that they kept it a surprise. However, imagine how much larger the crowd would have been if Perry's appearance would have been announced? So I am not sure what the motive would have been to keep it a surprise.
