I agree...

Shame is that Michael Vick is probably the best running back in the NFL, and one of the worst QB's in the league. He is hurt more than Basketball players, and we all know how big of pussies they are.

Madden said he only walked down to a locker room after a game to visit a player ONCE in his broadcasting career. That was after watching Emmitt play with a separated shoulder in this game:

The Cowboys and Giants were both 11-4. The winner got the NFC East title, home-field advantage in the playoffs and a first-round bye. The loser got a wild-card game the following week.

Smith separated his shoulder in the third quarter but returned to the game, which went into overtime tied at 13. He carried the ball on nine of the Cowboys' 11 plays in the extra period -- at one point raising his aching shoulder to stiff-arm Lawrence Taylor on his final run, which set up Eddie Murray's game-winning field goal.

He finished with 229 total yards and a touchdown on 32 carries, along with 10 receptions -- the heaviest workload in team history. Then he spent the night in a hospital.

Had the Cowboys lost that game, Smith probably wouldn't have been able to play the following week in a wild-card game. That would have made the road much more difficult in what turned out to be the Cowboys' second of three Super Bowl victories in four seasons.

"Emmitt has never forgot he was part of a team and what the team meant," Jones said. "You're place in our franchise has always been secure."

Madden said he had ice on both shoulders, IVs running into him. He had to tell Emmitt that his performance was one of the most amazing things he had ever seen.

BTW, I hate the Cowboys, but respect the hell out of Emmitt and Aikman.

Oh I respect the holy trinity too, yep even Irvin (i'll never that clown showing up with jerome brown, armistead and guys like in combat boots and fatigues before the 86 Nat'l Champ game press conference only to get beat by Penn State). But, the POST Bubba Gump Gumbo Deano, completely outa shape, could run behind: Williams, Newton, Stepnoski, Larry Allen and Tuinei and get 1,000.

I'll never forget Irvin smacking Darrell Green on his broken arm trying to make a play against him. Even that didn't work.

Now there was a genius. I think the term "shutdown corner" was named after Green.
BTW, is there a FASTER player in the old Nintendo Tecmo Super Bowl than Green?

This is getting WAY off topic, people are gonna get pissed.

Ahem: The Super Tecmo Green's almost as fast as Neal's axe on FITH.

I learned that switchback trick from NIG.

I loved TecmoBowl. I remember freaking out about how "lifelike" it was compared to other games back then. I don't play video games anymore, though.

How about Irvin doing lines the size of garden hoses at the Cowboys "white house." Then Troy goes to court to support him..IMO, Irvin is a piece of shit, but I do like his commentary on TV..even tho he thinks he is a pimp...

Think Andrew will mind the football talk, or will he blow a gasket? Too late now I guess, unless you all want to delete your posts?

I like the second one. It DID blow the other things out for realism. Then teh first Madden came out on Gensis and you realize that in Super Tecmo Steve Grogan was throwing the ball from one end zone out of the back of the opposite endzone at times fully 125 yards in the air.

...or for chrissakes Barry Sanders could run for a grand in 1 game. ONE.
Put the second fastest skill player at fullback and have a FB dive play.
3 sure-fire td run plays for Barry like sweeps, tosses or the up top off tackle....Take the opening kick to the 1 and get tackled. Run Barry 98 to the other 1 on first down. Run the fb dive backwards back to your one, Barry for 98 again on 3rd...so on and so forth. If I remember it, the first time either Barry or the FB gets tackled it's over so you might's well hit reset.
Yep realism personified.

Aussies are tough..They don't play that gay stupid shit called soccer....Soccer isn't even a sport....I love it when those South Americans or Euros are writhing in pain, and as soon as the yellow card comes out, they are busting ass down the field, doing airplane motions..too stupid..

Also love the fact the ref keeps time in his head..Hello? 3rd worlders, get a motorized timeclock!

How did a thread about Abitaman's health and well being, become so worldly?..
