Again, not the point, as far as Angie is concerned. Journey has been been playing 3 hour shows and they did not announce a show less than that. Since the venue did not have a time constraint, it all fell on Journey.

Someone who can admit that *maybe* Journey was at fault?!!? *GASP* Jrnyman, you're my new hero! :P

I think hour and a half dvds are called porn trailers and I think Red was busy that night. It would have never worked.

Just to be clear, I think Journey should have walked off stage and come back for an encore instead of playing straight through. And I would have liked if they released a statement concerning the show instead of maintaining secrecy.

Other than that, I do not think Journey was in the wrong.
Sorry if that destroys my newly required "hero" status.

At fault for what, Sugarbumps :?: For playing a standard, fair-length show? Or forcing projectiles from the hands of attendees stageward? How many fairs get 3 shows almost half-filled with lesser-known material? Why do I think that somehow if they HAD done the 3-hour show your and your lot would be bitching about boring , unfamiliar and new material :?: What was that half-baked nonsensical porn joke :?:

I wasn't planning on going to the show, but on a whim I thought "what the heck." So, I went to ticketmaster.com, searched for one ticket (Ask The Lonely), and bingo! I'll be in the 18th row, front and center. Always been a sideline fan, never been to any of their concerts.

Hopefully I'll get to see how much emotion Mr. Schon plays with tonight!

I was going to make a comment about the emotion! ;)
Please give us a review of the show when you can. I wish I could go to this one. I have no idea what to expect out of a nearly 4 hour show!!

It really speaks to your desire to play the part of dramatic attention getting villain.

Am I wrong in figuring that fairs for the most part are 1-1 1/2 hr hit extrravaganzas, due at least part to the fact that a lot of fair concert goers would be spur of the moment casual fans who only go to the show because they were at the fair and wanted to hear live renditions of greatest hits ONLY? So SF may have been the exception to that principle and allowed for a 3-hr slot. Maybe the band didn't even KNOW that as we all acknowledge their planning is sometimes slipshod and forethough nonexistent. A mistake if they did not look into it.

But why in hell did they need a police escort away from the venue?

"but there with the grace of God I go..."

Have you NOT been reading anything but your own posts the last two months?! The fair venue managemnt ASKED THE BAND if they wanted an opening act and THE BAND SAID NO BECAUSE THEY WANTED THEIR FULL SHOW AND A "NIGHT WITH JOURNEY". Every other show at our fair that week was over three hours. Get off the "it's a fair thing". It's a cop out.

So you think Journey management said they would play three hours, then did not? I find that hard to believe. Even if it did happen that way, that crowd of animals didn't deserve to have Journey even play a note.

That's alright, J28. She just skims, doesn't really read, looking for things to jump on. An idiot, and i don't mean savant.
Thank god she's on the air now. It's like Beatlejuice. talk about the SF thing too much and there she'll be.

Hey, beatlejuice. I was careful never to bring your name up in this post yet you appeared anyhow.
And how about it? Isn't what I said about fairs above true for the most part? In which case you shoula been expecting the truncated hits only show?

Well, since you had to delete that post and start over ... no not in this post, but you dig in other posts. Not to mention your love affair with "Sioux Falls".

No it's not true. I've been going to fair shows for years, all over the midwest. I've never been treated to a less then either two band or full set show. In fact, I saw Journey in a field once in IA and they played longer then they did at our fair.

Ooooo you caught me. I deleted it b/c I had to get your quote in since you're waiting with baited breath for these posts being the narcissist you are craving the attention you replied to your own post with a barb at NIG. That was before I had 20 seconds to get my reply to YOU in. So to redirect my point and not cause confusion, I deleted and started another with your first of consecutive posts. The one aimed at ME.

Anyhow I'm not referring to YOUR myopic view of things, I'm talkign about the fair circuit country-wide. Not just Iowa, MN and SD.

Angie, this is the first time you have said that Journey wanted it's "full show" and "An Evening With Journey". Before that, you simply stated that Journey wanted "An Evening With Journey", which is what you got.

She's like those people who get an inch and then immediately want a foot and get belligerent when they don't get it.

They wanted the 3+ hour show at the $25 price, AND the FREE cd (venue exculsions and band annoucements citing those be damned), AND encores.

Follow me Red...I'll go slow so you understand. YOU asked ME the question. That would be asking for MY view. So, Mr, "I just post in circles because I love to hear myself talk", if you don't want to hear an answer to a question, don't ask it, because obviously YOUR view is the only correct one.

*Sigh* No, it is not. If you people would actually READ things I've posted instead of going into your "Journey is right, Journey got the shaft in all this" tirades, you'd remember that. I also posted it on Back Talk, but somehow, mysteriously all those posts got deleted. So much for unbiasedness huh?

Go figure.

So you figured the way things go on in YOUR neck of the woods is the benchmark for all national fairs. I don't believe it, Kay. I think most fairs nationwide and the peole who go to them know enough not to expect a band to diverge from the 90-min gr hts norm.

that cornfield show, BTW was that Journey with Augeri?

If I might borrow Angie's tactic for a momnet and reply to the sound of my own keyboard with successive posts:
This (typically, I might add) does nothing to refute the fact 28 pointed out. Which way did you want it?
