I'm in a really good mood today, because it seems like I've had multiple lucky breaks regarding my room renovations.

1.) We don't have to strip down to the original boards as intended. The original plaster is still holding up well enough to put up the sheetrock without too much problem.

2.) I won't need a piece of plywood to put over the soon-to-be-gone spare window. We're using two pieces of the old wall boarding that came with the room. So money is saved there.

3.) The new window only cost $125, half of what I estimated!

4.) All of the materials needed to fix the room cost me $225, again, about half of what I estimated.

So I should be finished in two weeks' worth of work, and I'll have a ton of spare cash remaining to spend on what I please. :D :D :D

Tomorrow we remove one window and start working on the walls.

Mindy's doing fine. We changed her diet a little bit since her anema and she's feeling a lot better. We stopped feeding her the hairball dry food and switched to a special diet food made for older cats. And to cap that off, we bought a laxative for emergencies, since it's cheaper than a vet visit. No problems since. :)

About her operation beginning of the year. You can't tell she had one. The growth hasn't come back either, so this is a very good thing.

13 years later, she's still got spunk.

Hello there people!

What are you all up to? Jonny, good to hear that Mindy's doin' fine! I might take Mao for a walk tonight ( before I get too drunk! ) Anyway, the weather is pretty nice here for the season, no sign of snow but in a couple of weeks snowballs will be rolling!

It remained foggy all day in Amsterdam, except for two hours in the afternoon, then the fog came back. I feel like the fog has entered my head, I have caught a cold... again.

S-dip, you'll have to cure that cold! A Bowmore single malt Whiskey might help you!

Nothing much... shivering on the couch in front of the tv, I guess...

And you? Are you going to a bar tonight, or do you remain in as well?

I'll soon be on my way to old Keen Hue guitar player Stefan Morén, we're about to do some instrumental stuff at his studio. I guess we'll end up at some party somewhere!

That sounds nice! Have fun. ;)

BTW: his band, is that a band I should have heard about? Because I must admit I haven't.

It doesn't sound too funny with that cold, just hang in there and sooner than you know it you'll be Rocking The Night Again!

I'll be on the couch tomorrow, struggling with hangover! Terrible disease!

I think the band prior to Keen Hue is better known, Six Feet Under! Featuring the same bassist, Kent Jansson and to become Glenn Hughes guitarist Thomas Larsson!

I have heard of Six Feet Under; the death metal band... I suppose that's not the band you are speaking of here? Anyway, don't mind me, I am terribly slow today...

Hey, Thomas. Long time no see! How's your extended vacation from music going?

I'm sort of on one myself. We can't get a band practice going because of schedule conflicts. Ironically, the last possible practice we could've had never happened. The person who scheduled it forgot about it. Let's just say the band isn't too happy with my bro right now.

At this point, possibility of an album is 15% at best. Possibility of gigging is less than 3%. Soon as I have a day off, I'm clearing my bro's sequencer memory and will start demoing up a solo project.

...

Remind me never to eat 3 Egg Rolls in one sitting ever again. I don't think I'll be doing chinese again for awhile.

On a side note regarding the band project, I told my bro about one of his old-time friends from way back. His friend's parents went through my register at work and told me about a recording studio they opened up. He says that they could hook us up for some professional recording for dirt cheap (as in close to nothing.) All my bro would have to do is call them up and they'd set up arrangements.

I suggested it if my bro wanted to record the old-fashioned way, rather than the modern-day pray-for-the-computer-to-work practices seen today. But I'm betting $100 that he's already forgotten about it.
