With the interpolation of that fact, I see nothing wrog with what Journey did.

If you had spent over $200 for front row tickets would you see it different?

What bullshit
Why all the snide, shit ass comments you mother-fucker...just wondering you miserable D-bag....NealIsGod wrote:Red13JoePa wrote:Now the agreement: I think you understand all of the above but still wanted to play it. Management's vague aloof reply to you is inexplicably baffling. And dumb. So it wasn't the official final version. And yes, now we know TPIYH has been remixed for radio.
But if a station was willing to take that album as was and play anything off of it on the radio HOW CAN THEY SAY NO? In this day and age when it's so hard to get on radio. I wonder if the band knows their reps did this in SF. YEs, we the diehards will discern the difference between the mixes but really how much worse could it have sounded to the average listener if Kay spun the giveaway version on air?
Wow, harmony between Red and AKay. What's next, cats and dogs sleeping together?

Are you saying they let these women sit in FRONT of the front row, or displace the front row to seats further back?
I thought you guys were talking about the advanced seating packages...If that is the case, then these people were NOT gauranteed front row tickets...onlly the first ten rows, or whatever. In that case they got what Journey promised them.
The_Noble_Cause wrote:No, because as I already clarified (and u so conveniently omitted) Cj contacted management and did everything within her power to redress those that in any way felt wronged.
The_Noble_Cause wrote:Being that it will be broadcast on television

Some of Journey's fans aren't the most telegenic people in the world.
Sound shallow and superficial?
Welcome to the world of TV, folks!- (where looks matter)

Bottom line, if you have to hire hot female "rent-a-fans" then it seems a little pathetic to me.

I post similar things like this ON BT.
Jrnyjetster does too. In fact, JJ has become very vocal as of late!

It is the MUSIC that is supposed to capture the audience, NOT these "extra fans" that everyone else will KNOW that they are not "genuine fans" of the band & their music. Just my thoughts.

I think ur partially blinded by your impetuosity to assign blame to Azoff for ANY reason. If you stopped and thought about it for a moment, you'd come to the conclusion that what ocurred in Houston was beatiful in it's underhanded ingenuity.
A shrewd business move that even the legendary Herbie H. would've been mighty proud of (in fact, I wouldn't be suprised if it was his idea).
When Herbie wanted to give the impression of fledgling Journey being succesful, what did he do? He craftily got them played in restaraunts and stores as background noise, so people would become familiar with the songs and also mistake it for popular radio. As he said, giving Journey the impression of being succesful was accomplished stealthily, mainly thru "smoke & mirrors".
When his company Nocturne filmed the Vegas show, he said that he had them selectively focus on the hardcore fans who were singing the words to "All the Way" to give the impression that the song was a big hit (when it wasn't). That wasn't an honest, fair depiction of the entire crowd, but did Herbie care?
Fuck no.
Proving again, that if it makes the band look good, that's what counts.
Similarly, hauling a bunch of hotties in U-Hauls and deploying them at the Houston show to counter the dearth of lovelies in attendance is similarly breathtaking in it's razor sharp business acumen.
Like I said, I feel Herbie would be proud.
They should have hauled in a bunch of hot looking guys. The days of Journey drawing a lot of women to their concerts is a thing of the past. It went out with Perry, just as it started with him.
