Talk about a FORCED SMILE on Steve's face.....thought all his teeth would smash from the amount of clench....

C'mon, Noble, did you forget about the big tour they've been on for the past several months? That's way more than zero.
Bingo! You would think with all the work the band puts into making a cd and touring, they'd promote the new release beyond their own website. It just makes absolutely no sense to me.Monker wrote:This conversation is really a bit superfluous. The timing of the release of both the album and the singles and how they dealt with radio tells me that they didn't even consider the thought of how to get it airplay, or how to promote it to the general public. If they wanted that stuff, they would have done a traditional release - release the album and single before the tour and tour behind it...and send it to radio. That didn't happen and they are not going to capitalize on things by caring about it after the fact.
No single will chart.
No single will get significant airplay.
The album won't chart.
The album will sell less the any other Journey album in history...if you don't count the concert CD's.
That is just the way it is going to be...everybody should have known this months ago.
The_Noble_Cause wrote:I never heard the band mention the official store-wide release of this album while on tour. They passed cds out at shows, yes, but in what way does that promote the official copy shipped to stores shelves?
It doesn't.

Well, they have been playing songs from the new album on tour. That's promotion.

Fernando Ramirez wrote:Anything out there, whether a new Perry DVD, a radio commercial for the tour, a DJ talking about the tour, a review in a paper... a message board disagreement.... it's ALL PROMOTION for ANY PRODUCT the band puts out.
