Favorite VH concert

Postby VH101 » Mon Oct 10, 2005 1:29 pm

Mine would be Kansas City, July 26, 2004. Got the five star package along with my best friend (a fellow VH addict). What an experience! The soundcheck was totally cool - they jammed to "Hot For Teacher" (ahhhh!) - then Wolfie throwing out VH guitar picks at the end. The show was tight. We stood in the front row right of center, exactly where Ed was for most of the show. And, when he did his solo... ECSTASY! Being just a few feet from the master himself was awe-inspiring to say the least! When Wolfie came out for the duet on "316"... I know I had tears in my eyes. A show to remember forever! 8)

That's really cool, VH101. I hope there are more VH moments like that for you in the future.

My favorite is my first concert ever, the Diver Down tour. If I remember correctly, After the Fire opened (of Der Kommisar fame). My seats were average, but just the thrill of being at a VH concert was enough to make it special.

I have only been to the one 5150 show so that would have to be my fave! ;) It was an AWESOME show though. The guys had so much energy and they certainly were having fun!

I enjoyed all five shows I attended on the Gary Cherone tour because they played ROTH songs they have not played in fifteen years... I loved hearing ROMEO DELIGHT< I'M THE ONE, UNCHAINED< MEAN STREEET,
DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY>.FEEL YOUR LOVE TONIGHT.. IT was a thrill. And they looked like they were having so much fun onstage at all my shows. Especially the COLUMBUS OH Show...

The most memorable one for me was the first time in 1979. I believe it was April 8 at the LA Colesium. They co-headlined with Aerosmith. I'm glad that I had the chance to see VH in that time era. My second fav would be when they released Fair Warning. I believe the tour was dubbed the "Hide Your Sheep" tour. Anyway, them opening with my favorite song at the time, and still is, "On Fire", it was totally cool. My third, was the first tour with Sammy. They had so much energy and you could just feel their vibe. They were all happy and the crowd fed off it. "There's Only One Way To Rock" was my fav of the evening. My how times have changed.

Hi Guys and Gals..
For me it would have to be in Sydney in 98.I saw them for the first time and then drove with 2 of my buddies to Newcastle to see them again.
But the BEST SHOW would've had to be in NOV 98 when i went to japan.I had no idea they were playing,i went to japan to work, and sight see when my g/f who was japanese at the time bought me a ticket to see van halen at the YOKOHAMA ARENA.The last show of the 3 tour.
It was incredible,18,000 japanese going crazy,it left the sydney show for dead. The encore consisted of josephina, panama, and then they threw in you really got me,the place went bananas..followed by Jump..i was FLOORED..98 WAS A GREAT YEAR

I don't think they ever played it during a concert. Since it was just Mike, Al and Ed during the soundchecks of that tour, I think they just threw it in as an awesome warm-up with Mike on vocals... Not sure if Sammy could do the song justice.

Having said that, has anyone ever heard them do "Hot For Teacher" with Sammy singing lead??

OU812 Tour in San Diego, CA.

The 2004 tour when they played in Seattle, WA I was not too impressed especially during Eddie Van Halen lame guitar solo. He spent most of lying down by his amps.
