A Really good sign for Journey

Sunday Night, at the greek in Los Angeles..Of course it was sold out, probably oversold..Anyway, I remember Jon saying there were new generations of people coming to our shows. I really didn't know if that was true, but what the heck.

Well, Sunday night, there were tons of 18-26 yr olds in attendance. All there without mom and dad..Making out, singing along with the band, knowing the new tunes off Generations...It was the first time I have actually seen a positive from this year.....

If that isn't the BEST sign for Journey, I don't really know what is. I even asked some to comment.. Some said, "Journey is so cool, I would never miss them." or "O my God, these guys never get old."

The crowd at my show was mixed, but plenty of young 'uns. I think a lot of teens and 20-somethings listen to the classic rock stations and maybe even grew up with Journey being played in their homes. I know I am working on getting my boy to be a fan!

Do you guys think maybe the reason why there are more young people going to Journey shows is because Journey is more popular on the West Coast? I mean, if this is happening all over the country, that is some good stuff! It's been so long since I've been to my last Journey concert (in 1998,) I'm sure the crowds have picked up since then.

Speaking of Journey concerts....I could kick myself for going to Myrtle Beach a week TOO early! Journey is in concert at the House of Blues the following weekend! DOH!!!

Well, the Denver show was a benefit for a local High School here so I expected there to be kids there. I thought the parents "supporting the school" were dragging their kids to the show. I was wrong. There were TONS of kids there and they were singing along and dancing all night long!

Saratoga, NY is on the East Coast, and SPAC, which you have to drive to get to, was filled, 12,000+, and a lot of the concertgoers were young kids! Some who liked Journey on their own were with parents, and some young people were together, just as Dean said. They loved Steve Augeri, were very responsive to him, and were singing the words to the songs, as Steve sang them.
