Godfather, give me strength

Postby Andrew » Tue Nov 01, 2005 9:54 am

Yes, I am under attack via e-mail from a crazed Perry fan.

Why is it that someone can love EVERYTHING an individual has EVER done, yet cop crap for suggesting that they have seen better days?

That's just my bloody opinion - why is it some people CANNOT accept that others have an opinion that differs from theirs and why is it some fans CANNOT accept that their might heroes are human beings and at times may not be 100% perfect?

Bloody hell....it does frustrate me sometimes. I love Perry...I have everything he has done ever....check my collection.
More than anything I hope he makes another record - I could really use that.
But do I expect him to make Street Talk 2 or Escape 2?

No...I don't think it's possible. I hope...but I am also realistic.

It was a self confessed lurker.

I have a lot of respect for those that post here and stay true to their beliefs.

But at the same time - I do respect all opinions. I just can't stand those that won't let me have mine.

For the record, I think Steve came across GREAT on TV and I think he was very accommodating and talkative and you couldn't help but enjoy seeing him there.
But, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, his voice was not on song that night. Strange circumstances for sure....but not a great vocal.

Yes, it was a female that wrote. The girls do seem to be a little less flexibale when it comes to their Perry opinions.

I'll close off my thoughts on this with one final comment - let us all hope Perry makes a new record and does a tour - at least one last time.
Wouldn't that be great!

Fair enough!

Would not have won any vocal awards for sure, but this was not the time, the venue and most of all NOT the purpose! This was something all together different. They asked for him and he graciously came! What....on few days notice? Threw himself into their game, their drive to win! A good luck charm for sure, because he is "the voice" that made that song famous. He has not sung professionally, other than some back up for friends, for over 10 years! I give him the utmost in respect for throwing together that sing along, no band, no rehearsal, NO nothing in order to "wrap up" the whole DSB theme and HONOR his hosts wishes!! Very gracious!

Why are u ladies so adverse to people simply positing their opinions on Perry's performance?
This is the man who could do no wrong, remember?
The bottom line is he sounded like shit and no amount of post-performance damage control or sycophantic venerating is gonna change that. Eat it!

That anyone should take fandom to a point where e-mails are sent to castigate someone for a differing point of view is regrettable to say the least.

I learned long ago, accepting things you don't like is difficult, but certainly not impossible.

If Mr. Perry ever does truly step back into the limelight...wonderful. Should he not, I'm happy to have enjoyed what he did bring to the table.

Peace

Stop playing the gender card.
It's a lazy argumentative ploy (even for you).
It's not my fault the majority of Perry insanoids on here are women.
I am not a mysogynist by any means.
If you can post a quote of mine that proves otherwise, I openly challenge you to do so.

I PMed you once and that was months ago.
I am confused how you possibly could be scared of what I wrote when you admitted on this forum several times that you didn't even read my pm.

Actually, here's your quote saying so and the corresponding link where it can be found:
