Marabelle,

There are hundreds of questions submitted before hand. He chooses these himself. Tell me that isn't arbitrary?

But I can see why people view his answers as non answers.

I know what you're saying too Sadie. I think he does these Q & A sessions when he knows he's done something that's going to cause discussion, but there are only certain things he's either able or willing to discuss. His reason in Feb was the WOF. This time it's the DVD and he'll probably answer questions about that and the World Series as well as he can. Other topics on which he chooses not to give what some may think are acceptable answers are probably those that he either has no real answer for, chooses for personal reasons not to answer, or shouldn't discuss for legal reasons. There are LOTS of things I'd like to know, and I get annoyed when he doesn't give the info I want, but he doesn't owe me an answer. It's not going to change my opinion that he's the greatest rock singer of all time. :D

Ah yes, but you hold Mr. Perry in a different light than most fans. I mean that in a good way. You're expectations of him don't fall into the same category as most others.

As for that greatest rock singer...well I'll be nice and call it a tie

I was going to say Perry was NOT even a rock singer, because he wasn't. Dude is pop and motown.

THEN Sadies' elephant mouth overran her hummingbird brain and suggested DeYoung and Perry be tied. Again, I am on to Twig fan. Nothing in your band is nether better or tied with us, okay? Just ain't NEVER going to happen....and DDY is even more pop than Steven Ray ......

I would like to say that, all I expect is for Perry to actually answer the questions he chooses. Last time he selected questions and STILL gave "non"answers. C'mon, if you pick the question then answer it!

But even a non-answer is a response that tells the asker what limits and boundaries SP has and offers insight into acceptable approach and how SP feels about the questions in general... jmo

I want to see how he'll tacitly dismiss Steve Augeri again this time.

I honestly, sincerely don't know what you mean by that Dave. Did you expect him to tell where is lives, or outline plans that he hasn't even made? Please explain where he gave a "non" answer.

Would you ever consider releasing the Against The Wall tracks collectively?

SP: Sony is a strange machine. In England, the record labels always re-evaluate their past and do re-release singles from older CD's. Here? Never

What do you think about all the websites devoted to you in cyberspace? Do you have any plans to launch your own website?

SP: I own steveperry.com but I've yet to fly it. For now Fan Asylum has been so gracious in letting me use their site for my official statements. If you ever talk to me in a chat room or hear anything on any other sites just know this, I DO NOT go in chat rooms so it's not me, and for now, Fan Asylum has the only REAL Steve Perry statements to believe in!!!!!!!!

Have you ever thought of creating a purely blues based CD? (I'm speaking of the really old time Blues). Your voice would be magic in that type of genre.

SP: Sam Cooke, Robert Plant, Marvin Gaye, Janis Joplin, Diana Washington, Kitty Lester and so many great singers I love, were all about the blues.
I love it.

Do you have any desire to do some small venues again? Your concert in San Francisco on the Strange Medicine tour was a blast!

SP: Thanks......the Warfield Theater was a lot of fun. I do like smaller venues because it's so intimate. My solo band was a great group of players and good guys. We had fun on that tour.

Thank you so much for attending the WOF ceremony on Jan 21st. You look good, Steve. Very healthy.... and as attractive as ever! I was in tears as I saw you embrace Neal then Ross. Now that you have felt the energy of the fans, do you feel you might make more public appearances...and hopefully perform somewhere? If not for yourself, how about for a charity.

SP: Regarding charity shows.....I do my own personal charity work by donation. I'd rather do it that way.

Steve Augeri has stated several times that you were his inspiration. In fact, he dedicated Journey's EP Red13 to you. What are your thoughts on Steve Augeri? Have you two spoken? And lastly, have you seen him perform with Journey lately and what were your thoughts about the band's performance?

SP: I only met him once and that was at the Hollywood WOF presentation. I've never seen the New Journey perform. With all due respect, my memories of Journey and its music are locked in our time together. I think I'll stay with that.

The way I see it, Perry doesn't have to LET the fans ask him questions at all.

The fact that Perry is taking the time to let the fans ask him question is a really nice thing for him to do for the fans. Especially considering that there are SOME people that ridicule him, complain about him, attack him verbally, & do nothing but degrade him any way they can. Those People that treat him that way don't deserve HIS time at all.

Then there are fans(like myself) who appreciate & value Perry. We RESPECT his privacy & personal feelings, we don't expect or make demands that Perry answer certain questions that pertain to HIS privacy & personal feelings that are none of ANYONES business any way.

Now I won't say what my question was here, but my question was a light hearted one. It is one that I've always kind of wondered about with ANY famous singer. If Perry gets to my question & answers it, GREAT, and if not, I will understand because I know he will have a TON of questions to answer.

I KNOW this is a cool thing, that is why I posted the link here for all to see.
I also respect Perry's right to privacy. If he doesn't want to answer a question he can either omit it from the Q&A or he can say he can't/won't answer it...much like he did with the question concerning his daughter. But if he is going to choose a question to answer...he should answer it. Not a big deal. I am happy for the opportunity to ask Perry a question. I sent one last time but I am not sure if I will bother this time. But the questions I listed above are not big questions, they are not especially personal, they are simple questions that Perry "avoided". Sherrie said she didn't know what I meant so there ya go...

No, he only does it when he is hawking something, whether it be Monster or the GH DVD.

Don't be so naive, Lori. He is doing it for the money.

I am sure you are not referring to anyone in here.

I think I speak for all the Augeri fans when I say Perry, in his days with Journey, was untouchable. No one will ever fill those shoes completely, But we are just glad there is a very talented guy who is doing a great job and enables us to hear the old music live, and great new tunes as well.

Actually, some of you remind me of the people who were camping out at the courthouse during the Michael Jackson trial. They believed MJ could do no wrong, too. Not comparing Perry to the child molester, just saying his fans are wearing the same kind of blinders.

I'm sure if you can tie it in with the Houston Live DVD, he will answer it!

Now, don't think I am bashing Perry. I am sure he is a fine person. I just laugh when you say he is "nice enough to talk to the fans". Where is he when there is no product to sell?

First of all my post was ONLY about Perry doing questions for the fans. It had nothing to do with all your assumptions & YOUR personal issues that you have with Perry.

Regarding your comment about Perry "hawking his product", well that is called PROMOTING his product in the music business & that is what EVERYONE DOES that wants to sell a product. As for making money, I hope it makes Perry & the band a TON of money. Meaning Perry, Neal, Jon, Ross, Steve Smith, the ones that were a part of that music in that era.

You certainly don't have a problem with your current band members making some money from the sells of this DVD, do you OR is this where your blinders are on & it's ok, if the current Journey makes money, but not Perry, he is doing something wrong, if he makes money off of a classic Journey product???

My post never brought up anything about the comparison between Augeri & Perry's singing, again it was only about Perry doing questions for the fans, but yet, you bring that up in your response, when that was not what I was even stating in my post.

Futhermore let's talk about your blinders, YOUR NIC says it all, when it comes to having blinders on, "NealIsGod".

Another assumption made by you, "Perry can do no wrong". Where in my post was I talking about Perry saying he could no wrong???? Where was ANYONE talking about Perry saying he could do no wrong???? This is just you & your personal issues that you have with Perry.

No one is perfect, not Perry, not ANY of the band members, they ALL have faults, just like WE ALL do.

I'm just a fan that loves Perry's VOICE & MUSIC & accepts HIM just the way he is!!!
