And Perry had a gig because Herbie covered Steve's pay for two weeks, flew him out to the Bay area and unilaterally imposed him onto the band against everyone elses' wishes.
Both Steve's jobs came about owing to the benevolence of others.
Where's the difference?

About 20 million records TNC? LOL, ok, I agree, it's not the break. It's what you make of it. I've heard nothing but great things about Augeri the person. So, you have to root for someone like that. I hope he does put a solo CD out. I'd buy it.

Why wait? Go catch up on his early work in Tyketto and especially the band Tall Stories. Great work. Even better than anything Journey has put out in recent years .

Met him in September. Guy couldn't have been nicer. Made me feel like the celebrity in the room. I talked to Jon, Neal and then Steve. Neal and Jon left and then I waited for the last bandmember (Steve) to leave the room before I finally departed the Borgata. Steve noticed me straggling behind and left his engaged entourage of friends and family to come over to talk to me and my date again.
Even introduced himself to my date.
He was the man.

i think he is a nice man, no doubt; but i think he goes too far out of his way to be the nicest member of the band. it's like if you are going to remember him you will remember he had a great voice and was nice contrary to sp who you would remember as having a great voice but not the nicest guy in the room.

What's wrong with being a nice guy AND having a great voice? Just because you are endowed with celestial talent does not mean you are excused to be a haughty prick to everyone.
I nominate this as the stupidest post of the year.

NO WAY. The stupidest post of the year was no doubt, JourneyActs getting married post....remember that piece of crap tried to make us believe he was actually getting married? I for one wasn't buying that one.

Noble Cause you are just lurking waiting to say something mean or is that just your everyday persona trying to insulting and be gross. Stupidest post of the year! Pleeeeaassse! It takes more than that to gall me. You're pretty mild. Show us how stupid you really can be!

I'm not trying to mortify you.
I am just saying it the way it is.

I agree, that was a ridiculous comment. I believe he is absolutely that nice a person. I don't believe its something that he is going out of his way to do. Augeri is just who he is, not trying to manipulate people into thinking he's a nice guy, as other singers have.
