Ok. We have all heard this monster.

What song grabs you....really grabs you and forces you to hit "back" time and time again.

Mother! Father! Sister!...love that song...such an impact and to watch his face when he sings it and his body language. Yikes!

I've seen it at one of the SP sites and it is simply amazing!

Well, I guess the capacity for polls is only 18..

I typed in "The Party's Over" but it didn't show.

That song IMO, is the best one on this CD. Just a thumping, popping beat, with outstanding bass..

As for pure vocals, I can't find another song on here that rivals "Stay Awhile."

Well the whole CD floors me, so it was real difficult to pick just one, but "Stay Awhile" would be mine.

I have always loved Keep On Runnin' and think they did an incredible job with it live! The energy level was huge, and Perry still pulls off Wheel In The Sky without sounding out of breath!

I think SP was wearing a cape with the letter "S" emblazoned across his chest under his clohting. I don't know how he did all of that running and
singing and crossing the stage back and forth and sing...

I'm not a fanatic but I love me some Perry! And, of course, all of Journey's music.

It's called being in shape..both physically and voice wise....Things, whatever they may be, tend to go to shit when one gets lazy...

Plus the fact that he was so adrenalized...good for him...

Cast my vote for Dead or Alive. I've always loved that song....That's my first time hearing it played live, and it has all the manic energy I've always imagined it should have. Everyone (except maybe Jonathan) really shines on that song.

What amazes me about Perry on this DVD is the guy's pacing. He didn't go out and blow it all in the first 4 or 5 songs, and it's really interesting to watch what he holds back on and what he lets go with.

I voted for ESC4P3. I just love the whole beginning, with Perry playing "air drums" next to Smitty and then running down onto the stage, and Neal ripping into the song. I remember having a copy of ESC4P3 and playing it to death, then seeing this concert cemented them as "my" band. 25 years later, they still are.

For someone who sings Journey songs I imagine that would be very interesting to see and probably quite useful, too.

It's very interesting and of course useful. When you watch anyone at the top of their game, be it Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Steve Perry, or anyone else, it's amazing the paradox between how effortless things can look versus the true amount of work, effort, and talent that go into making it look that way.

Did u study the Augeri 2001 dvd in the same manner, Jeremy?
What did u notice?
I've noticed that when coming down from a high note, Steve A. does it gradually, almost in a yodel type fashion.
He doesn't do that anymore in concerts.

I did enjoy the 2001 DVD, but to be honest, I've watched the 2001 Vegas show as much as I've seen the new Houston DVD, which is once each. After a group of us watched the 2001 DVD, someone left my house with it, and it was never seen again. I've only had time to watch the Houston DVD one time, but I have listened to the CD numerous times over the past week.
