I agree with you 128, but then why is it Blacks can have their own awards show, AND participate in the Grammy's or AMA? That is Bullshit.

Can you just imagine Jesse Jacksons' head spinning round and round as he made his way to the protest site for a "White Music Awards" night?

What's the difference?

I agree with you 100% Sugar.(and by the way it's great to have you back)

I think a BIG part of the problem is that the industry is more concerned with being PC than promoting the best music.

NIG, maybe one reason country music is so popular is that country rock music has become the majority of the rock style music that's on the radio.

I'm not a culturally prejudice person, but when it comes to Hip Hop and Rap, I'm a musically prejudice person.

throwing words and insults around. jesse has his own personal issues but to denigrate someone with the likes of buffoon only makes you sound as racist and hateful as he and al can sound. that is what is so interesting about racis they sure can point the finger at someone else when they just need to look int the mirror cause not only do they sound like their parents and grandparents but they also sound like card carrying members.

and deano do you think about anything before you write it down. you sound so racist. at least sherri had the decency to qualify her feelings regarding rap music; it's your preference what you like and don't like but jesse never did or will he ever look to you for any boost.

Yeah, my mom is a bit on the goofy side, but then again the apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it? ;)

I have no idea about Mark Lindsey and I didn't really pay attention to the other band members...and if I did, that was three months ago and I can't really remember. They do have a website.

Well, it certainly makes a difference when two out of your three kids career's are musically orientated(my brother is a band director). Although, my mom doesn't like female announcers, so she doesn't listen to my station unless she needs to know if I am working or not! lol!

OH, this has been a pet peeve of mine since Whitney hit the scene and everyone who followed her thought they had to sound like a bellowing sheep.

So much for "us" Marabelle. What the Hell are you "thinking" let alone typing?

I don't need to "qualify" anything. If anyone "likes" Jesse Fucking Jackson", they are basically black with no fucking brain. Don't tell me how to think woman...I worked in the most Politically Correct WhiteHouse in the this country's history...you don't know shit, lady.

Jesse Jackson is the BIGGEST fucking racist known to man.

Kiss my ass, Marabelle....before you open your elephant mouth, be sure to check your hummingbird brain....

And also Andrew, before you throw me out outta here, let others weigh in..I am SURE they will say I am correct here...

ANYONE here who knows me, knows I hate conservative bastard republicans, and am an all rights for all guy......

I don't ever want to have to "defend" myself again.

Deano, I like your passion, but seriously - do you think stuff like this helps your cause?

The first couple songs of Whitney's that hit the radio were great. She sang with a pure, strong voice. Then somewhere along the line she started sounding like all the rest. I just hate that breathy, half-whispering sound they all(including Jessica, Ashley, Christina, and Britney)sing with now. Some of these girls really can sing, but they choose to sound like they're out of breath. I guess they think it's sexy. I think it's annoying.

Faith Hill blows them all off the stage. Did anyone see her special last night? It was the best musical performance I've seen on tv in a long time. She put her husband to shame in the duet they did. The band was absolutely rockin'.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out.

Marabelle, yeah I've seen Whitney. It's pathetic.

Andrew, perhaps if more people simply spoke the brutal truth, than some wouldn't think twice about insinuating what others believe or don't believe.

I would think anyone here knows exactly where I stand on ALL issues, wouldn't you?

I am so sick of half-assed arguments...either bring it, or get the hell out...

"Marabelle" is cool, but she went over the line calling me, "racist." If she wants to find racism, she should check Opening Acts' comment about Randy Jackson..and I quote,

"He is nothing more than a Fat fuckin' cotton picker." For those of you outside the US, slaves were prominent in the southern states, and performed the duty, "cotton picker" exclusively.

Also, if Marabelle wants current day racism, albeit hidden behind glassy lies, checkout your local GOP internet, or the current administration.

Sorry, I have to defend myself again, where it shouldn't have had at all come into question.

Just my 2 cents.

You all enjoy your holiday, some of us have to work..

I do not like to be chastised by you Deano. You are not cool coming down on people as you do. I wonder how intimidating and brooding you are in person. It's easy to call women hags and saying we have elephant mouths but if we were face to face I would smack the shit out of you. I care to be around people who stimulate conversation not shove it down my throat with insults. Calling me names is not cool. It's like me calling you a limp dick balless bastard but I would not do that cause first of all I am a lady no matter what you chose to say and secondly I have a whole lot more class than that. We can disagree all we want but when it comes
to being mean and nasty then do not speak to me at all.

Hey, ever heard of a metaphor? I said "elephant mouth" to say in my way, that perhaps you shouldnt have said what you said about me...that's all. I did not at all mean to imply you had a Big, giant piehole...

I called you a hag before..That was wrong and I apologized both privately and publicly.

You should read your PM.

Deano said NOTHING racist. And he is right about Jackson. He shows up a day or two before Schavo dies just to get his picture taken and name in the paper. Typical of him. People like him are a drain and a divisive force in this country. It's fine if you disagree, Marabelle, but Deano calling JJ a racist is dead on and doesn't make Deano one.

You're right NIG, Dean isn't racist. He's just totally candid about what he thinks and puts it all out there. The sad truth is, if he'd said Jerry Falwell was racist it may have been argued but nobody would have thought Dean sounded racist for saying it. It's not right, and it's a form of racism in itself, but it's the way it is.

I also think that mindset in our society is one of the reasons our music industry has become totally infused with the hip hop culture. That's fine for people who like that music, but there are still a lot of us out here that don't like it at all. My reasons for not liking it have nothing to do with the skin color of the people performing it, I just don't like the sound of the music or the message that's pervasive in some of it.
