Well, it is probably a fine line to tread so it is easier to simply say NO to "bootlegs".

Red13JoePa wrote:I have a hard time even considering it a "bootleg" per se unless 1 party is profiting from it. No one I've ever traded with or given to has profited in concert trades with me.

My understanding is that if absolutely NO MONEY exchanges hands then it is completely legal. But I guess the issue is with people 'stealing' the show or something. I don't get it. Personally I have never been big on Live CDs, but boots are different because they are real. I am definately finding a love for live boots, I just don't have anything to trade so I never ask.

I actually really love the idea of a promotions forum, but there are not enough people trying. But my big thing is, we fans need some answers. And I created a thread asking many of the questions. No answer though. So it feels like fan promotion is just sp

I hadn't noticed "rules". Ken is a little overzealous at times, but he has some good ideas and he makes an effort. If there was more organization to this "promotion" forum, he would be an asset.

Yeah, that was stupid! I avoided that.

Same way I do here. I don't take anything too serious (most of the time ;)). I take away what is 'important' or entertaining from it, I leave the rest.

Asking and telling people to go vote IMO, is detrimental to the band. it just let others know how bubble gummy they are.

actually, the only reason i go is for the reviews by NON BT members..and there are some links they always have from shows and articles. Other than that, I find myself just in awe of the "blind following." Seriously, when the band goes away, these people will have nothing in their lives.

Shall we get a prayer circle going?

Yeah, it can be a good place to get the articles/interviews/reviews without having to spend the time searching yourself.

"Prayer circle"!! Haven't seen one of those in a while...but hurry and start a new one. Hey Deano, I will pray for you if you will pray for me! :D

Don't know if you saw this...But, a moderator started that by closing a bunch of Perry topics because "He is no longer in the band and is therefore offtopic in this forum."

That is the lamest excuse...There wasn't even any 'fighting' in the closed threads. So, where's the harm with a few Perry fans talking about the World Series and Perry's future? Just a VERY sensitive delete function, IMO.

They practicaly PROMOTE George Tickner there, and he hasn't been part of the band since the FIRST ALBUM! They allow Keven Chalfant talk there AND HE HAS NEVER *REALLY* BEEN PART OF THE BAND! If that is the unwritten rule, it should be carried to ALL topics - not just Perry. It actually makes the Perry fans look justified in being angry at the forum.

Stuff like that happens, and I really don't know what they are trying to do there. It just doesn't even 'feel' like a Journey forum any longer. Yeah, it's supposed to 'promote Journey'. But, it's not really promoting anything if all they post is "Stevie Awesome...blah, blah, blah" and "Generation rocks, blah, blah, blah." What's the point? There is no room for differring opinions or discussion...It's just a one way street and if you are not traveling in the direction of traffic, well, don't get go on that road.

It's become like I said years ago on that forum...what do they want, the moderators to be, the Happyness Patrol? "Are you happy?" "Yes, I'm happy!" "I'm glad you are happy!" "I am happy you are glad!"....with nobody really saying what they think, only saying what they are ALLOWED to say.

I know I wouldn't last a week if I start posting there regularly...in fact, I am quite certain that posting stuff like this outside of BT marks me as a "ban him when he gives you any excuse" person. So, I'm limited to "Yeah, DAD was a Japanese soundtrack" and "Don't Tell Me Why You're Leavin' is the B side to Oh, Sherrie" posts. Which, I suppose, is where they want my posts to stay anyways.

But, whatever, it's how they want it, I guess.

Hey, that was my thread over at BT that was closed, the bootleg thread.

A friend of mine was sending me a live CD of the Philly Spectrum ROR show and wasn't sure if it was legit, so I asked about it at BT and all hell broke loose. The packaging is super glossy and was shrinkwrapped, so on the outside, it looked legit to my friend anyway. It ended up being a Gypsy Eye boot, but really good, sound quality starts to dimish on the last two songs, though.

That Spectrum show '86 ROCKS. A pal of mine with freaky black hair who thinks a guitarist is the Diety (not so sure I disagree) graced me with an immaculately pressed copy just this past summer. It rarely goes 10 days without getting played in it's entirety, the sound is one of the best of all the boots I've heard. And to ARRIVALRULES: WELCOME!!!!! That list of boots hhmmmm......can i offer you a kidney for the LA (GREEK, DEAN?) show?

Alright.. I have some I.I.

Dallas was recorded and will go to market in April, if on time. They are leaning towards a double disc offer like escape is.

I believe every show is recorded...
