Today feels really strange...

It's saturday, and I got the day off...it's the first saturday I've had off in 4 months. Nobody gets saturday off at a grocery store...must've been a screwup when they wrote the schedule. :P

Not much new going on. I posted the finished results of my room in the photos thread. Now that I'm completely moved back in, the room I slept in during the past month upstairs is being converted into a recording studio. Some things remain constant with the band project:

1.) We may have, yet, another singer change.
2.) We still don't have a bassist.
3.) We still can't get a band practice going.
4.) I'm still working on solo material in the meantime.

So this is the life of a band, eh?

Well, the weather's warming up. Looks like summer is on the way. I've just finished 2 months of full time work, 8 til 6 every day except saturday. I survived, just!!! Not used to this working caper. Now I'm just working 2 days a week. Much more handle-able.

I went and bought a scooter to ride to work on a couple of weeks ago. Hubby took it for a spin and liked it so much that he went and bought one too. :D Now we both scoot around iinstead of driving the car. It's bloody hilarious. I've noticed already the savings on fuel though.

Anyway, I'll have a vodka. Any one else fancy a drink?

I'll join ya Penny...it's been a while since I last dropped into this bar ;-)

Last night I went and saw an AC/DC tribute band called Dirty Deeds...some tribute  There was an Angus Young that didn't play lead, a lead guitarist that couldn't play lead and a heap of technical troubles (strings breaking, microphone troubles...) Pretty ordinary really...here in Beijing they just can't put on a decent pub rock expereince like in Oz...

It is starting to get stupidly cold up here at the moment...almost every morning I wake up to ice on the ground. I find myself wearing at least 3 layers of clothing every day  For a shorts and t-shirt kinda guy, this is not very nice...I am really looking forward to going back to Oz to thaw out...unfortunately this won't happen until late January, so I have the bulk of winter to get through first.

Work at the moment is getting a little quiet...I am only teaching for 10 periods a week yet still have to be in the office from 8.30 - 5.30 every day...pretty boring really...still it was pretty hectic there for a while so it is kinda nice to have a little peace for a bit.

Speaking of work, it has just finished for the day, so it is time to head off campus for the weekly massage...I should probably wait until Friday, but I'm going to get pissed then

Yet, another tropical storm hit Florida this week (yes, this late in the year it's very unusual. We've already broke the record for named storms in a year.) That storm pushed some warm air up to Maine, and we had 60 degree feirenheit weather that day!!! But after the rains pushed through, it dropped to below 30, and now it's snowing!

Only in Maine. Buh humbug!

Hello everybody! :D Just checking in from the holiday down under! The weather is excellent, the food is gorgeous, and the drinks have been plentiful. As will be my Newyears resolutions after indulging so much!!!
Oh, and I can't get over the colour the water has... fluorescent blue, simply beautiful.

Heard that Holland had some sort of a blizzard during the weekend... Holland isn't supposed to get any blizzards!

Hadn't noticed until you pointed it out. Van Halen must have had too many managers.

I've been in a blizzard over east, but not here in the west.

Kenny, people on the Styx and Journey boards have been complaining that they don't want to be "Manager of Van Halen" when they hit 2,500 posts. Andrew is changing it so you can pick the band you want to be manager of.

It is very important, you know!

Personally, VH would be fine with me!

I would've preferred that we could change the title to anything we want, rather than just a Manager of ???... Oh well. Even a little change is better than nothing.

Oh speaking of ranks; where do we find a list of them? You know, how many posts it takes to get to a certain rank. That sort of thing.

Fuck knows Mr.Kalodner!! Why??
Just observant I guess.....comes from being borderline paranoid - I'm becoming reasonably active politically and I'm keeping a look out for any suspicious vans parked nearby at the moment!!

Interesting about the observant/paranoia link. I have a friend who's very observant, and he's also pretty paranoid. Myself on the other hand, don't observe much at all and I don't think I'm even slightly paranoid. :D

I don't like the name changes at all. :(

A lot of forums allow you to create your own rank name. Why is it so difficult to add it here?

Well I think a person with paranoid tendencies is naturally vigilant - and I think our Government is giving us reason to be paranoid.....or am I just saying that because I'm paranoid?

Hey, who from the Styx board was complaining???? LOL

I'm just kidding. I thought Van Halen was pretty much done and I thought it would be great if we could actually pick our own out, but we can't. I don't think there would be any band that everyone would be happy with and I can't think of a band that is so well known world wide that anyone would really want to be a manager of.

By the way, it's going to be below zero here tonight, brrrrrr!!!
