A Kinder, Gentler thread to settle a wager.......

Good Morning to all of the happy people of the Journey board !

Let me start by fulfilling the obligations I made during my wager with some of the really nice people who frequesntly post here. I'd like to say 2 things.

1. Journey is the Greatest band in Rock And Roll History

2. The Seattle Seahawks Rule the NFC

And now, I'd like to take a moment to expound on a few reasons why The Seahawks find themselves in such a position of Dominance....

It all Starts with the Head Coach, Mike Holmgren, who brough the Winning attitude with him from his prevoius experiences, winning a Super Bowl while coaching THE GREEN BAY PACKERS...... Coach Holmgren brought many assistant coaches with him from that great franchise as well and they instilled the attitude of a winner.

I'll expound further tomorrow....

Here is my Tuesday post in regards to the unfortunate demise of the Packers against the Bears last Sunday....

Journey........is the Greatest Rock and Roll Band of all time.

the second part.....The Seattle Seahawks rule the NFC.......is actually looking more true than ever, as evidenced by the 42-0 dismantling of the Eagles on National Television last night......VERY IMPRESSIVE !!!

And you know, a BIG REASON for their success is.....Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. He was originally drafted by.....THE GREEN BAY PACKERS ! He learned a lot as the understudy of Future Hall of Famer, and 3 time NFL MVP Brett Favre !!! It's no wonder he is so successful, don't you agree ???

OK, since it is Wednesday in the Eastern Time zone, and I am still awake,
I am making my Wednesday post now..........as you may have read erlier in this thread, 2 things I know are:

1. Journey is the Greatest Rock and Roll Band of all Time

AND

2. The Seattle Seahawks rule the NFC

If you wonder why #2 is true, other than the reasons I have already given, you really need to look at the Organization /Front office. Some years back, Paul Allen decided that Dennis Erickson and the GM at the time were just not taking the organization in the direction he and the fans wanted it to go. What to do ? he no doubt thought......so he looked around the League and decided to hire your current coach, Coach Holmgren to be both coach and GM. BUT THATS NOT ALL....Coach Holmgren brought along many of the front office people with him, because they were instrumental in the resurgance of THE GREEN BAY PACKERS to their rightful role as a preeminent NFL franchise. And today, the Seahawk Nation is reaping the rewards of Mr Allens decision to emulate the fine organization that is located in "Titletown USA"

Bravo, Mr Allen, Bravo !!!

Packers only won 3 SBs. Two when there were a lot fewer teams. Ravens have only been around 10 years. Face it, both teams are in down years, but Ravens aren't quite as far down as the Packers.

That both teams are in down years is true......If I am not mistaken, we'll see who is further down when they play each other week after next.

What is also true is that the Packers last year with a losing record prior to this one was 1991......the longest streak of its kind going in the NFL. I believe now that this streak is officially over, the new longest streak is 8 years, making it that much more impressive.

When you are drafting in an inferior position that many years in a row, it is inevitable that you will eventually move backwards, which, combined with some key injuries is exactly what happened.

So, Mr. "never bet me on the NFL"...........are you ready to take the Ravens against the Packers ? Perhaps a tad more of a "fair fight" in 2005....

So, the FACTS about your beloved Seahawks, and how they were built are BOTHERSOME to you ? I can't understand why.....I'm AGREEING with you ! I think they are on their way to Detroit the 1st week of February !

So, as for your request to cease and desist on the posts, I'll consider it, but in my book, a bet is a bet, and I am not a welcher. Though I'm having a hard time coming up with arguments in favor of the Journey part of the statement. Still working on that though.....If I keep trying hard, I'm sure SOMETHING will eventually come to mind....I just hope it happens before next Sunday !

Perhaps you are right Sadie.......but I was just answering an insult with another.....and actually, I dont think it was a disparaging remark, unless one chooses to read it that way. 2 wrongs doesnt make a right though.

I think Deano has thick enough skin that he can handle it though. If I am wrong about that Deano, then accept my sincere apology. I don't wish pain or broken bones on anyone.
