I get really tired of all the celebs getting their face into things. You know, even if Tookie did NOT commit those 4 particular murders, he is co-founder of the Crips for God's sake! How many lives has THAT organization impacted negatively?! So, he's written childrens books and been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize (how does THAT happen when you're a convicted felon?!).

Twenty-four years is WAY too long to be on death row working through appeals after having been convicted of killing four people. The situation should never have gotten to this point to begin with.

I'm not being pessimistic TNC. I'm a realistic. And, no, nothing like that has ever happened in my family. But have you seen Tookie or Pookie or Wookie? If he's been rehabilitated then I'm the Pope's long lost daughter.
Seriously, this man has not changed and if people believe he has then they are fooling themselves in believing they can actually change a hardened criminal and erase all the hatred and "thugness" he has carried with him his entire life. I have to agree with Marabelle on this. Perhaps a young first offender can be rehabilitated, but most of the time they just get more hardened by prison. When it comes to hardened criminals, no way. I'm not a big death penalty supporter, I hate the idea of it, but I haven't been able to come up with a workable alternative either.
