Yeah, I read something about the passport in the paper. They were talking about passing a law requiring people to have a passport before we could even enter Canada, but it wasn't due to be passed until 2008. This is also the same time when the Passport is due to be changed to include an embedded microchip. It's obviously for tracking purposes.

I was just in Canada a few months ago, I had no idea that you needed an ORIGINAL copy of a birth certificate. Thank goodness I found mine. Next a Passport for Canada??? Then a microchip??? Sheesh!!!!

If you had a fucking job, you wouldn't have time to be going to Canada every other fucking weekend.

Thanks for your concern Dean, I really appreciate it. I don't really need to work at this time. I'm enjoying life and having a great time while I can. I'll probably have to get a job next September :)

I only went to Canada once this year!! And before that was sometime in the 1990's Thankyouverymuch!

I don't want this for ID... Its cababilities to spy on people go beyond the original purpose of a passport -linking the name on the document with the person carrying it. And it's not flawless... you can't replace your biodata if your identity gets stolen. And even if your identity doesn't get stolen, scanners can malfunction -as I've already experienced!- while people who enter data can make mistakes.
Anything made by humans can be broken by humans. Ergo the data is replacable. But it does sound like Minority Report.

And Deano/SMB... Behave! We don't need that cr@p here.

It's pretty cold here too, the temps will be around 15 degrees today!! We have about 5 inches of snow that fell this week. It's pretty to look at, but too cold to enjoy it outside for a long time.

Summer has finally come here. :( Yesterday was hot. You people in the northern hemisphere are so lucky to have a white Christmas. I've only ever had one.

I don't like the real cold below freezing weather, but I do love and appreciate our four seasons where I live :) For a couple years we haven't had a white Christmas, this year we will, thank goodness.

The winter I spent in Finland was beautiful. The snow didn't melt much at all. I was there for 5 months and the snow was on the ground the whole time. Lots of it. I loved it. Would have stayed longer but everyone else wanted to come back to Oz.

Yes, states.

In political talk, and Government talk, countries are referred as "states."

Hence the term, Secretary of State.

Well as I'm not too active in the political forum, and most of the governments that I know anything about are full of wankers, including the USA's Secretary's of State, which are the only ones I've ever heard of, I call them countries. And no, I didn't go there. Just Finland.

No prob, Penny.

Calling countries "states" is acceptable.

Me too! Just three days, and then it's a well earned mini vacation until the new year. :) I needed that...

What's everyone going to do with Sandy Claws? For me and my owner it will be going to family. Haven't seen them in about half a year, so I reckon we'll have fun. Catching up, and all.

It'll be a quiet couple of days at home for me, with immediate family, then after Christmas I'm heading up north to see other family members. That should be fun. Haven't been up there for a few years.

Hope you all have a great time and get good presents. :D
