He's a bully.
The worst part is how he jostles people under the guise of being diplomatic and genteel.
Make no mistake, the guy is a thug of the worst caliber.
You either agree with him or the 2-ton gorilla will sit on top of you until u finally do.

He also has a habit of acting like a moderator even though he has NO duties in that capacity.

However, he is the webmaster for www.georgetickner.com as well as the guy who runs JIFR (now apparantly Generations X Radio).

No offense... but George Tickner? There are two types of Tickner fans. Fans of his work while in Journey and people who like him just because he was in Journey. The latter is why I despise BT so much.

Nobody HERE on MR.com is profiting from and that's how it should be done.
I wouldn't give my stuff to people if I thought it'd end up on Ebay.

Exactly, Red. Trade=good :!: selling boots on eBay= bad :!:

Will have to admit, I use to sell them on Ebay 4 or 5 years ago, not just Journey, but Styx, and other shows. Didn't have a lot of them, just about 5 shows I keep selling, for 7.00 a piece, shipping included. Then one day, I got an email, from some one claiming to represent Journey. Said I was selling bootleg material that the bad was not making money off of, and that I need to quit, or further action would be taken. BUT, the letter also said that they (Journey?) realized that boots will always be around, and that they will always trade hands. As long I am not making money off their music it was ok.
So I took it as it is ok to trade something for free or cd to cd on the boots, but not to sell. Since then I have not sold a boot, for money, so I could buy more boots. I simply trade, AND IT IS A LOT EASIER THIS WAY TOO. Wish I still had the email, I would let you read it, see if you knew who it was from. But when Katrina came ashore, lost my data in computer :( -ERIC

That's a bit of a "catch 22" - how does one "start" a collection with which to trade without encountering at least a few "profiteers"

8)

btw, I do not sell any bootlegs - but in the pursuit of trading, I like to recoup my mailing expenses and materials whenever possible.

Profiteers is right...hey, I'm one of those who has NOTHING in the way of Journey bootlegs aside from a '78 Passaic, NJ cd and a bad quality Puerto Rico show on video from 2000. Recently tried to find someone who had Journey DVDs, and having nothing to trade, I soon learned that $25 per disc would get me some stuff.

Uh, no.

If anyone's feeling charitable, I'm looking for a good quality Generations show, one of the longer ones with the old stuff set then the greatest hits set, and a Raised on Radio tour show.

I'm happy to pay for discs and shipping and maybe a little extra for the trouble.

I have to admit, when I first started getting Steve/Journey footage, I bought some off of ebay. The first purchase was of a tape of Steve during his FTLOSM tour. It wasn't the greatest vid, but I hadn't seen that tour. The second purchase I made was for an original tape of F & B, and the third was a lot of vhs tapes of Journey footage. From there, I have gotten quite a few vids since, which I have traded with other Steve/Journey fans, which I now trade with my friends here.

Just recently I did receive from a friend a dvd of Journey doing a concert in Japan in 1980. This one has Gregg Rolie in it.

Well, given the content, the flip-flopping, the fresh insults, the homo-phobia, the nasty visuals, the outright bashing of the P-Ladies, .. all in all it's a wonderful reflection of psychotic fan-atics..yessirre it's all good  some of this crap makes Reardon look like Mother Teresa. I thought the photo of the toilet bowl just sort of punctuated it to a tee. Yep, just the sort of meaningful stuff you'd want to see on a Melodic Rock site. Bah :!:

No, my information is sadly correct. The people who choose to leave me now is their own doing. I hold no grudges. I'm sorry you don't believe me Ace. I always enjoyed your posts. Like I said, my choice isn't popular, but it's something I have to do.

By the way, I am not going to see Neal tonight. I just don't think I can walk that far. And I am not going via wheelchair.

I'm not lost to you in anything, nor is Niggster or NoMoreTails or 28 or abita or Yak or CRLady or any of us. We can agree to disagree. Just because nobody fired from the grassy knoll of journey land doesn't mean you lost any board buddies.

I am not getting it either. Look, I admit that I have done a complete 180 on Augeri. I never did not think Perry was the greatest of all time.

I just am not that all high on Augeri anylonger. I have my reasons.

I wonder if BT reads us. they should, but then again, they are mechanizedover there.

Ace, I have a reason for my actions. it's not like I woke up one day and changed personalities. however, everything I say is a lie anyway right?

I wonder why so many people (mainly the other side), dwell on talking about me. I am a nobody, but that one person says my word is gospel. look, so I investigated and found a lot of stuff out. I don't need to confess anything to anyone.

I never said you lied but I question your sources/reasons for your 180. It makes no sense and when you are questioned either in PM or on Forum you either elude/allude or ignore. So, it's no wonder that credibility is never mentioned in the net dictionary under Rock'nDeano. Carry on but don't think that you just saying you have your sources/reasons is good enough for the Internet definition of veracity.

Well, I hope Dean's wrong. But his reasons for not totally outing his dark secrets are with the good intent of not starting a total E Firestorm of conjecture.

Oh geez whatever. All he needs to do it just drop the whole drama/innuendo stuff and get on with his life. He's got this whole place on his emotional rollercoaster and not being an Adrenaline junky, it's tedious. I'll quit bringing it up [whatever it is] :!:

I love the band, but I have to say that their official site is an embarrassment.

Poor layout, very little info. Instead of embracing the digital age, they seem to be running from it.

amaron, I TOTALLY agree with you. It seems odd that a band of Journey's caliber refuses to release live dvds, new cds more often, and offer these items on their website. Their music is great. Their website sucks.

Adikeo,
You are exactly right. I have mentioned many times that Journey needs to "embrace" the digital age and I am always met with the short list of things Journeyhas done using the internet tools they have. But Journey certainly does not see the BIG picture!

The site is in desperate need of a redesign. But it IS in the works. I know the guy who did the framework of George and Ross' sites. If he is able to free up enough time he might be taking on Deen's and Journey's sites as well. Maybe then we will see some real content. But of course, it still has to "come from Journey"...

And I am sure Journey could sell enough product to make a little money off "the vault" of shows they have...

Yeah, that's your standard line of bullshit. You guys were on here whining and making up shit to talk about when you had noone to fight with. That's all you're here for. There was no action when we all went to the Perry board, so you did all you could to bait us there. When there wasn't enough response to that you imported trouble from other boards. You're worse than a bunch of schoolyard bullies. At least they have the excuse of being children. You're grown men who act like juvenile delinquents.

That's why I responded to Ace's post. He had it right. This board survives on fighting and Dean's dramatics, not Journey.

That's funny, cuz I could have sworn that this board was dead all day, until you decided to stir up the pot. You expect us not to respond? You obviously WANT us to. Why else would you taunt Dean like that without being baited? So stop playing the tragic victim card. It's grown VERY old.
