Journey Generations DVD 2005 ???!!!

Very true Catlady. They made a mistake a couple years ago by going back to the "dirty dozen" supposedly because 'they were playing new markets that had not seen Journey in a long time'. Then they did Main Event where they 'didn't have enough time' to play anything but the dirty dozen. It went down from there. This year was a step in the right direction, but they still caved to 'pressure'.

The band caves in to play only the hits and you equate that to the fans yearning for Perry's voice? It is obvious that they yearn for the music Journey made...the songs they crafted...it is obvious it is NOT the voice that is important!

and for the BAND & PERRY to make AMENDS with each other.
It has AFFECTED them so much that at this point I think that even if they were to reunite they will probably just do fair in sales .

The reason the sales numbers would only be fair is almost the same reason why Journey is not doing as well now without Perry...the death of the genre. There would by some hype, there would be some money spent to promote, there would be a surge because of the reunion...but it would not add up to much more.

"I will not respect Neal if he takes Perry back" and I am sure it's the same with the Perry fans.

Yep...I have said it. But I would still listen to the music before making any decision...just like I did when Steve joined.

Everyone has not moved forward and I'll tell you why becuse Journey split with Perry and in their minds Perry WAS/IS the best suited SINGER for JOURNEY and STILL IS!

Too bad the Journey track was going downhill from 1981 0n. A great band for sure, but sales had been steadily declining. A big part of that was the decline of the genre.

journeymusic.com has totaly lost focus. It's no longer about the music, it's only about the fans who have nothing better to do then to praise Journey, and each other.
BT is exactly what I did not want it to become when they started tightening down the rules. It's a happyness forum. "I'm so happy!" "I'm glad you are happy!" "I'm happy you are glad!" and on and on and on. Then, if somebody makeis a post that is NOT happy, >poof!<, the thread is closed and if they don't start getting happy, they're banned.

Neal should HATE BT, it's more syrupy then "Open Arms". He should look at that forum and think, "What can I do with this?" Nothing...because he likes to speak his mind and that is not allowed on BT...unless you are happy with everything, all the time.

There is no focus on the music there. Oh, sure, they have the "Street team" forum...But, it has absolutely NO direction from Journey. It's pointless. The user introduction forum is nothing but the old Watercooler. It's also pointless.

Lost in the entire mess is the music. They should kill all of the forums except one and put Journey's MUSIC back as the focus. It just isn't there any longer.

When Journey releases any new music, that site should have it available FIRST. It's THEIR HOMEPAGE. Make some official concert videos downloadable. Make the old MTV videos downloadable. Styx even had a site set up by their road crew where you could watch every concert online.

It's crazy that Journey allows so much of their website's attention be BT and everything else is secondary. In the end, it isn't BT that pays the bills. Somebody critiquing the latest CD on BT isn't going to hurt sales. But, having so little space devoted to their latest music DOES NOT HELP SALES either.

If all they are interested in are the number of hits the site gets, then they should add a porn section...I'm sure that will increase hits more then a web forum. Hits mean absolutely NOTHING if all they are for are to read and post to the forum. Make it a requirement to spend $50/yr at the Journey store before you can post to the forum...and watch those hits fade. BT isn't doing any good for Journey at all.

As Neal has stated ad nauseum, "if he wanted to be here, he would be here." Hell, even Augeri has stated that he will graciously step aside if Perry wanted back in. Sony honcho and close Perry confidante, Jon Kalodner has said repeatedly that Journey would take Steve Perry back in a heartbeat. Read the signs.
