Probly right. Any bands of this ilk you know of exempt from this curse? And don't give us Bon Jovi, U2, Aerosmith.

They may get one again if Perry's allowed back in, though. But whatever hit comes out of that possible collaboration will be without my help and money.

PS, I'll qualify that. I would get the album if it happened, but it would be to support Neal, JC and the band not because I'd be happy to have Perry back and More Trial By More Fire in my collection. And I'd never spin it as much as I do Generations.

Wow red, my thoughts exactly...with one exception...I wouldn't buy it if Perry were on it...and you know it would be a one time deal anyway...IF that.

I would get the cd if Perry rejoined. I don't know if I would buy it or trade for a copy. Journey is better off withou Perry. That said I would buy a Perry solo cd.-ERIC

Just curious..Why do you say that? Are you saying they wouldn't sound better with Perry? Because if that's what you're saying, you need to put down the crackpipe. Maybe that's what's causing your spelling atrocities:wink:

If you are saying with Perry's shitty work record, then I would understand.

Most of it is Perry's work record, and tour record. Perry even by his voice today is better than most out there. He just needs practice to get it back in shape. I wish he would hurry up and put out a solo cd.

But with Journey, it would mean shorter shows, less touring, and one or two cds ever 10 years.

Even with the problems Augeri is having, I would rather see him front Journey on cd and on stage.

I have several Perry fronted Journey boots and solo boots, and he was sounding bad. The Long Beach show I JUST GOT, he needed help. BUT, it was still good to hear him in this shape, and would go to hear him nowadays, same I would with Augeri, more so with Augeri, because he is out there "trying" and playing for the FANS. And this what one fan wants 8) -ERIC

Thanks for the cd :)

Actually, Bad Company did very well a couple years ago with the song "Joe Fabulous" from the Merchants of Cool cd. I don't have numbers as to how high it got, but it was a huge radio hit for a while.

I always say I would listen before deciding. I am sure I would buy the CD and support my favorite band. But I definately would feel that a return to Perry is nothing but a money grab...and probably a farewell to Journey. I cannot see the band continuing 'long term' with Perry back. Plus, I do not see Journey recording the type of music I want to listen to with Perry at the helm. I imagine it would be done very well, and I am sure I will enjoy it. But I don't think it would be my preference. I would also have to see how they handled Steve and his "exit" from Journey. If not done the right way, I would really lose respect for the guys...

Beyond the first three songs Generations is practically unlistenable...no hooks, weak choruses....Arrival had more "good" songs on it.

There is a seeming lack of A-material past the first 3 tracks, but to call it unlistenable is a real stretch. The track listing just isn't very good. The second half of the cd almost seems like a bunch of B-sides stuck together, however there is still some premium stuff in there if u look for it.
"Out of Harm's Way" is good stuff, "Beyond the Clouds" is good, "Knowing that You Love Me" is also a stand out.

To each their own TNC, but I gave Generations a couple months on my IPOD and I ended up dumping all but the first 3 songs...

I think that Generations could have benefitted from better sequencing. But hey, it's not my album.

Generations would have been better with just one vocalist who knew how to sing, and then it would have been at least half as good as Arrival, which was half as good as Red 13, which bombed.

Do you own any album besides Arrival and the Greatest Hits?
Not every Journey song has to be an immediate toe-tapper top 40 friendly pop tune. With that said, I think "Knowing that You Love Me", "Out of Harms Way" and "Beyond the Clouds" are plenty catchy.
I swear, if "Departure" was released tommorow, fans like yourself would complain that the whole album is disposable with the exception for "Any Way You Want It".

She's like a female Troll. Nothing going on in her or Perry's life, so she tries to cause trouble where there is some action. Pathetic.

Maybe we should return the favor on the Perry board?

UglyMofo, why are you using an old TheNobleCause picture in your avatar space :?:

And regarding that signature: Did TheGloriousVOICE  really speak in all caps (like yell when saying "NO ONE!!!!," etc) when he recited those words? That would sound weird.

Not so weird, Joe. My take on that statement was that after Neal got his hands on Journey, he might run the band into the ground but NO ONE could take away what CLASSIC JOURNEY accomplished.

"after he got his hands on Journey"? Do you realize that NEAL IS A FOUNDING MEMBER? He has "had his hands on Journey" from the beginning, and all through the glory years. Perry is the one who "ran Journey into the ground" when he tried to control everything during ROR. I know that you know this and you are just trying to take the piss, but it is just fun exposing your fake ignorance.

He didn't have his hands on Journey during the glory years, Perry did. Neal had the band, before and after, and enough said there!
