How is this for "spin":

"Jon and Neil appeared on TV reading an official announcement:
Steve got pneumonia and basically had an alergic reaction to drugs and bacteria. Steve is being under several tests to find out how to help him to beat this illness.

He has a kind of decease in study, They made some tests that showed negative results (I mean nothing found), and he will remain under study. He has nothing severe but he's in pain, uncomfortable and has fever. He mainly needs to rest.

Jon said that they are very sorry for not being able to perform for us, and added they expect to be able to come to our beautiful country in a near future. He gave thanks for our understanding and Neil excused himself for his "bad Spanish".

Sounds like he may have light sensitivity.

I just don;t see why Neal and Jon would go through all this trouble to announce the info if it was not true. Going public and all.
I know Steve Augeri performed the last shows in 04 with an upper respiratory and the house of blues show in 04 recovering from bronchitis
I donlt see him canceling or flaking out if he wasnl;t really sick.
The whole band was sick after the 04 tour,
I donlt think Steve Augeri is the kind to back out unless he was really sick.
That being said, I truely hope he recovers and feels better soon.
Pneumonia is not something to take litely.

I'm pissed I even have to defend this but......

Cain's statement provides more detail than is necessary for the fans to have. If the Augeri era were over but you wanted to cover it up and not let it out yet, why not just say "steve is ill. period,"?

Instead he elaborates with details. Why bother going to trouble of falsifying those?

They would have just canceled and not explained,

The details were posted over at BT in the thread and the links to the press releases were listed,. Everyone has been dicussing it for the past few days, my guess is that they figured we already knew so they didn;t reitierate it

I hope you all have fun on here, ruining Andrews' board. He will appreciate it. I am no longer defending his board, because it's all my fault, according to him, and the crybabies who whine.

I also won't waste one ounce of breath defending this once proud band, because they sure as Hell ain't proud any more.

I will sit back, and actually root for you and your friends to just wipe it off the net.

I am off to watch bands that can actually promote, record, and tour; like Bruce and Bon Jovi...Those guys get it. And their fans are sane.
