All rarely if ever played and I'd be on my feet.

Anything with Perry up front. I bet he could even make hits of some of their new material, after he slapped the guys into shape and turned down Neals amps. :P :P

Why has Perry not done any solo tours ?

His voice is shot just listen to FLTOSM for proof.

AUGERI is the man for Journey and its time to move on from the same lame arguament.

Hey Joe! That was live and would have been better as a dvd, which a lot of, finally was, which is great. Follow that? Besides, Open Arms never sounded better.

Yes OA has sounded better. Every time Steve Augeri sang it.
And yes, Perry DID get Schon's guitar right on the Hous DVD. Probably b/c Neal had to threaten not to allow it to be released if he mixed him the way he did for the GH I dvd live clips.

Oh for goodness sake Joe, you can't mean that. Augeri sounds good on the stuff they've recorded since he joined, but he can't possibly sound better than Perry did on that DVD. It's just not humanly possible.

They need to shelve some songs mighty fast.

It's time to dump a lot of the minor hits for new shit. I can't believe Arrival has been out for 5 years now and I've only heard 3 different songs in 4 concerts.

I'll throw in one thing on this.

I've yet to hear Augeri duck the high notes the way Perry occasionally (and on some notes usually) did.

SO NOW I COME TO YOU WITH OPEN ARMS

But occasionally, Perry would go:

SO NOW I COME TO YOU WITH OPEN ARMS

As for songs in/out of the set list

Cut:
Ask The Lonely
Who's Cryin' Now

Play:
When You Love a Woman
Someday Soon

Others I'd like to hear:
All the Way
Loved By You
With Your Love
Nothin' Comes Close
Message of Love
People and Places
On a Saturday Nite

and a Good Morning Girl/It's Just the Rain medley the way they do Lights and Stay Awhile.

I guess he would have to turn down neals amps, since he can't sing anymore. Maybe it would be better to turn them up even more  -ERIC

U ever see his TV show?
It was great.
It was a Judge Judy knock off with Mills settling cases and administering cold hard justice.

But Joe, the point is whether the overall quality of Augeri singing the songs is as good as Steve singing the songs, not just the timing and length of the high notes. Hell, there are lots of singers who can hit and sustain high notes, but they're not necessarily good overall singers. IMO Augeri is good, but not Perry good. If you really like Augeri better I guess that's your opinion and you have a right to it.

I am a huge Augeri fan. Bigger Journey fan, and I have always said Perru is the Voice of Rock. Perry is the best rock vocalist this world has ever know, period the end, case closed. BUT, Perry is not singing with journey, solo, or in the shower any more. They guys in Journey want to keep playing music and they have, and have every right to. If the name of journey was THE STEVE PERRY BAND, They would not have the right to carry on.
So it doesn't matter who is the better singer, Perry is, but what matters is Journey is keeping THEIR music alive. And if you don't like the new journey don't buy their records. Don't go see them in concert, just play their old cds and act like you can hear people yelling Steve "I want to have your baby", and throw you bra at the mirror. Not that I saying YOU do that, but from alot of people act and carry on about Perry and are unable to face the truth, that Perry is no longer the singer he once was.-ERIC

Hey you guys are missing the point of my posts(or maybe just trying to make more of them). Red13JoePa said that Augeri sings Open Arms better than Steve did on the Houston DVD. I disagree with that. This has nothing to do with who can sing what today or anything the band is doing now.

I've never thrown my bra at anyone.

points taken.
I think Augeri does better on some of the classic Journey songs, but on some Perry hands him his lunch. Perry in his day was untouchable. In ROR tour, Augeri was close, Perry last solo, Augeri beat him hands down. I would compare Augeri to The ROR time period, more than any the others. I think Augeri's 3 studio cds are vocally superior to TBF and some of ROR.
It is a same it has to be a competition thought, both guys are good-ERIC
