Hope you don't mind if I make you guys feel a little older. :P I was only 4 when 5150 was released.

4 is a great year. That's the year when you've have enough experience to use a toilet without anyone's help, but before you know what a class bully is. The perfect year to be a child. 8)

Speaking of 5150, check out EVH at the academy awards. He's certainly aged well. He's almost got that Ozzy quality to him.

He looks like a some drunken mad guy you see wandering around the streets, muttering rubbish to themselves.

What's he doing there? Or should I say I loved his last movie?

AOTW goes to Toto's latest effort "Falling In Between". Classic Toto songs in a slightly tougher recording (more like Isolation).

I just read about them.... What are they like? From what I gathered they aren't Black Metal even though they suffer from Immortal Syndrome...

:? One doesn't need to be an actor to get an invitation, lots of other famous people attend those events as well...

And the remarks about how he looks... Very cheap and disrespectful towards him.

My AOTW goes to Sonata Arctica "Reckoning Night." This is exactly what I like for power metal: Speed & Aggression, while having some kickass vocals and beefy synth string patches. 'Don't Say A Word' has a monstrous chorus that could very well topple every song in the genre thus far.

That wasn't intentional. I thought comparing his looks to the greatest classic heavy metalist of all time was very respectful. All he needs is the stutter & the swearing and he's golden.

Hmm I´ve been ( and still 8) ) enjoying the DVD from Whitesnake Love it so that would make my AOTW.

They look stupid, the way they dress up, but that's their thing I guess. :D The music is brilliant. Very melodic, gallops along at a cracking pace. I certainly wouldn't call them black metal. More like power metal. Urban Breeds vocals are unbelievable. He never sang this good with Tad Morose.

They have some sound samples on their website
http://www.bloodbound.se/
and I think Andrew has some here on this site somewhere.

Definitely worth a listen too. I can't stop playing it.

Isn't it a great album? The track 'White Pearl, Black Oceans' is the stand out track for me. One of the best songs I've heard in a long time. They also did a cover of Aussie band Vanishing Point song 'Two Minds, One Soul' on the 'Don't Say A Word' EP. It's a shame it didn't make it onto the album. They do great covers.

He does look pretty bad. I'm sure he's enjoyed himself along the way though.

My AOTW goes to Ayreon "The Human Equation." This disc gets more addicting every time I listen to it.

Surprisingly, I was disappointed with Jorn "The Duke." My first impression of Jorn as a solo artist tells me his projects are more about showing off his vocal style. Musically, it didn't really impress me like Masterplan did.

Worldchanger is Jorn's best solo album JB.

It's easy to get you here. I need but whisper Ayreon and POOF! Instant Tali.

I will be persuing the rest of the Ayreon cds in the near future.

I suggest you get 'Into the Electric Castle' next....has Sharon from WT and Anneke from tG...as well as a strong male cast....or Star One-Space Metal.

Wastefall-Soulrain 21

These guys sound a lot like Entropia era Pain of Salvation...almost a little too similar...but what a great band to rip off.

My AOTW goes to Ayreon "Universal Migrator Pt. 1" (a.k.a. The Dream Sequencer.) Erik Norlander and Lana Lane do an excellent job as guest-musicians on this one...shame they can't seem to do the same with their recent efforts.
