The Red Headed Step Child of Journey's musical cannon

Precious Time is woefully under appreciated.
What an overlooked gem.
There's just a certain indescribable *something* about it.

Neal wisely dusted it off for the Main Event tour, but I sadly never had the pleasure.
How did it sound to those who were lucky enough to hear it?

They also played "Where Were You" on the ME tour.
It sounded better musically then it has ever sounded before.

the Musical great song crown yet it went
invisible...why the hell is that?

I've always said this is Journey's finest moment both the song and the album it comes from. They are both my favorite this band has to offer. I think they were at their pinnacle with Departure. Rolie leaving had the biggest impact on the changing of this band than any other member.(IMHO) :)

(Insert Loon Here)...No Way! Steve Perry, the Voice of Rock. was the greatest departure the band has ever felt! And if he were to sing me the phone book, I would buy it!

The song doesn't do much for me. I always skip it.

I agree.
Love Precious Time and the way Gregg managed to throw some Santana in there on the harmonica solo.

Haven't seen it performed by the current line up, either.

But, I did get to see Deen sing Where Were You last year and was totally blown away.

Departure - also my favorite album... Of all time.

Precious Time is a FANTASTIC song.

Also, I'm Cryin'. The song could be an instrumental, but Perry puts sooo much into singing it.

Any Way You Want It
Good Morning Girl
Stay Awhile
Precious Time
I'm Cryin'
People and Places
Someday Soon

These are such fabulous songs.

I can do without Homemade Love, though. It's not as bad as Lady Luck - ugh...

I remember reading an interview a while back with Rolie saying something about how 'I'm Cryin' turned out completely different than what he had in mind for it. I coudn't tell you where the interview came from or when it was done. But I would love to hear what his original vision for that would have been...

Hey, that's ok, NIG.
You go partake in the musical splendor that is, "Believe", and leave "Precious Time" for the rest of us who aren't totally deaf and/or tasteless.
