I don't agree. Cherone has to take some of the blame. To me, it sounds like he's shouting through most of the songs and not actually trying to sing them.

Did someone say better than 1984?U on drugs or what?Panama,hot for teacher,top jimmy,jump,ill wait and one of the best vh tunes of all time...girl gone bad...vhalen were a stadium act,extreme were a pub act,thats the difference.
Gary Cherone brought his songwriting skills to the table.Eddie brought the music,together it didnt work.Hagar can write a pop tune and a rock tune..cherone cant do either.

I think it was just bad. I am sure Eddie wishes he could erase it from the VH catalog.

Good point, 13. Has Eddie ever been interviewed or stated his opinion on the failure of Van Cherone?

Not that I recall. As I understand it GC bowed out on his own against Edward's wishes. The band was prepped to carry on with Gary and the follow up to III was already in the infancy of recordings.

Closest that I recall we came to getting official word was that it was a mutually accepted, though regrettable parting of ways.
Cherone intimated that the backlash from hardcore fans caused too much pressure for him to bother dealing with.
