Industry experience

Postby notme » Tue Mar 28, 2006 5:17 am

It's obvious everyone on this forum has their own ideas of how Journey (and Steve Perry, Steve Smith, Hugo, Kevin Chalfant.....et al) should run their lives and careers. I'd like to know how many people offering their opinions (or directions) have actual experience in the music industry. What artists have you worked with? What tours have you been on? Studios you've worked in? Management companies that you worked with? I think it would be interesting to know which opinions are "because of my experience" as opposed to "here's how I wish the world worked".......

Welcome, Fuckface.

Just what experience do you have?

This is a message board. It's a free country, at least for now, and who died and made you Pope. No one said they were in the industry. We all have opinions. I already hate you, and I don't know you.

Go to Hell.

Forums like this enable fans to ponder aloud on all the "what if's" and "what could have been's".

Just the reply I would expect from the affronted gentlemen. I've been reading here for two years, and I never said no one is entitled to an opinion. I would even dare to say I have no problem with an opinion that isn't mine! (Neither of you could make the same claim) I'm just wondering which opinions are actually WORTH SOMETHING. I guess we all know what both of yours are worth.

Bring it on Rock'nDickless...........

Let's get it on shitforbrains.

You really would have me believe that your FIRST post be one of aggressive biting, baiting? My money says you are Troll, Blacktux, or a Loon who strayed from the feeding trough.

What do you want to discuss? ImageYou bring it on, and I promise to completey annihilate you.Image

Not to worry Andrew, I'll take care of this one.

Well said.
That is the joy of a message board. You can express your opinions equally. No one's opinion is worth less than another's when backed up with reasons or facts.

And if it really matters, there are some who have been in the business and there are others (like myself) that would like to be a part of the business. I would love to learn more and more about the music business. The biggest problem I see is that most people are operating within the status quo. And right now, the status quo of the music business is in the shitcan. What we need is more thinking outside the box...and you will find plenty of that here on the forums!

Have a nice day...

Does hounding Azoff, distributing copies of a CD to a film star, and evesdropping on roadies count as a positon within the industry?

Relax folks.......it's only a question. I'm just trying to figure out where these opinions come from. As I said.....I've got no problem with everyone having their own opinion.

......and I'm with J28....the industry IS in the shitcan. My favorite is the award shows......the industry patting itself on the back for nothing!

Anyway........it's just a question folks!

Then you should ask it as such, and not in some baiting like way. I still have my doubts about you. My guess is a Loon, Troll or some new asshole.

BS. I don't have any ideas nor do I want to have any ideas how they run their lives or careers. Since I don't get paid to have ideas about that I could care less. What is your real point??

I'd like to know how many people offering their opinions (or directions) have actual experience in the music industry. What artists have you worked with? What tours have you been on? Studios you've worked in? Management companies that you worked with?

NONE. I have something better than industry experience. I have money to buy the music that keeps people like that in their industry. What is your real point??

I think it would be interesting to know which opinions are "because of my experience" as opposed to "here's how I wish the world worked".......

With all due respect, a very foolish first post with the intent of making someone feel like they don't have a genuine opinion if they have no industry experience.

Whoever you are it is ok. You don't have to feel like you are better than everyone else to feel validated in life.

I don't think I ever comment on matters outside of my official frame of knowledge.
If something sounds like crap, I say so.
The only qualifications needed for that are ears.

Dead giveaway.
This is a 'Loon.
Only 'Loons bemoan how opinions aren't tolerated around here and that free speech rights are incessantly being encroached upon.
YAWN.
What a bunch of volunteer martyrs.
Somebody wake me when they all kill themselves.

Come on, Noble! We loons can just sit back and enjoy you goons shred the new lineup, all by yourselves. I find it interesting that you fight me on my opinions but you come up with the same opinion and claim it for your own. I know! It's the expression, "Journey sucks now, but Journey is my Bitch."
What the hell are you all fighting about, anyway? For all practical purposes, you goons feel the same way that the loons feel. You goons just don't like us saying, "I told you so."
