Yesterday I saw Queen`s DVD,”Return Of The Champions”…My goodness.I never thought I would say this, but…I can`t think of a better concert.Maybe Rush In Rio could get close, but all in all, this is the most incredible live performance I have ever seen, especially because of the feelings they conveyed all through the show…The reaction of the audience was beyond belief.Wow.
Strange thing is I never was a Queen fan…Honestly, they were at the bottom of my list. But now…I had a lump in my throat while watching, then I was in awe because of the fantastic production…And Paul Rodgers…What a humble, soulful, charismatic singer he is!He deserves to be called “The Soul of Rock”.By the end of the concert I already forgot about Freddie…seriously.
I couldn`t help thinking…Maybe if Journey would have done something similar,I mean doing the tours and the albums as “Journey and Steve Augeri”,who knows, maybe the animosity between their fans would`ve disapeared.
Ok,I know it`s not the same situation as in Queen,I mean Perry didn`t die,but I was thinking of a diplomatic way to solve a delicate situation.
Oh,well…
All I can say is Queen are doing a helluva good job!

They got mediocre reviews in Boston a couple of weeks back. They did say Paul Rodgers handled several songs well and the Bad Company tunes were an added bonus.
But I'm crazy so what do I know...

A week ago, I saw for myself and it was AMAZING!! They played songs I never thought I'd hear in concert: Under Pressure, The Show Must Go On and Radio Ga Ga. In my opinion, they could have left out the Bad Co songs and stuck to Queen alone, but it was a GREAT concert! They paid homage to Freddie well.

I bet it was wonderful to see them,Angie!
I remember I read an interview with Brian May - he said the band was looking forward to sing some Bad Company songs and that they had so much fun learning them and then playing them live.
I didn`t mind hearing those tunes - I`ve always loved Bad Co.
Thanks for the pictures. :)

I've managed to see the band 3 times since Rodgers joined and i have to say that he's doing a stellar job of replacing the irreplacable! He brings something new to the Queen catelogue, and i think it works so well due to the choice of tracks they've used in the set. Left out are the more flamboyant songs in favour of Queen's harder rock edged tracks, with a bit of Free/Bad Comapny thrown in!

Having said all that, this is in now way shape or form Queen and the band know that hence the "featuring Paul Rodgers" billing. Can you really imagine Rolling Stones without Jagger, The Who without Daltrey, U2 without Bono?...Its just not Queen without Freddie, but whatever name they go by they sure put on a kick-ass rock show and that's fine by me!

As much as i love chatting about Queen, i have to ask...what the heck is this post doing in a Journey forum?!!!

I haven't seen Queen live either, so I will have to be content with the two videos I have of them. :D

Queen's always been one of my favorites. They define what the Rock and ROll hall of fame was set up for. There was never anything like them before OR after (sorry Justin and The Darkness...)...I regret I never got to see them live but I'm looking forward to seeing Paul front the band on the new DVD.
