Yeah well it's hard enough to fight the power here my friend - almost to a man and woman, all the Senators and State Premiers I have contacted have said 'We don't want to bring these laws in in a 'democratic' country' in relation to our 'anti-terror' laws.....(kinda like your 'Patriot' act) but they still passed them through our Parliament.

The reason I and the people I'm associated with have been given? The bombings in London on 7/7/2005 (Triple 7) and the 'terrorist threat we face'......what threat are they referring to?

The threat we face because we have aligned ourself with the criminal Bush regime? Because we are also occupying a sovereign nation and killing it's people?

Why aren't New Zealand facing threats from 'terrorists'??? Because they are nuetral.....not saying that would work for Australia, but a less radical foreign policy (i.e. not doing everything the Bush regime does) would be a good, and safer start.

Ah fuck it. Sorry for the rant you guys, it was Deano's fault!!

BTW deano, Bush isn't the Devil - he just works for him.

I have no politics to talk about, but I started thinking about something stranger today: Fermented grape juice.

I'm referring to wine.

Every grocery store has a full aisle's worth of different brands and different types of wine. But my question is, how is it even remotely possible to create a thousand variations of alcoholic grape juice?

Is it the difference between squeezing every drop of juice from the grape, or just the first drop from each? How do you get two different brands of the same type of wine, yet one can taste more like crap than the other?

It starts with all the different types of grapes Jonny, and all the different places they're grown....

Indeed  and how much sun the grapes get. That´s why I like the South African wine ... the grapes had allot of sun and you can taste that!

Speaking of sun 8) it´s shining right now .... hope it will stay this way.... or even get a bit warmer.

It actually starts with not buying wine from a grocery store Jonny!!!

Oh jeez, there is so much to go through, but it's so much fun!
First thing - do you like sweet or dry? Most people who are inexperienced with wine will say 'sweet' automatically, but in reality only a relatively small percentage of wines sales worldwide can be classified as 'sweet'......it also depends what you like to eat. ('Sweet' wine can be sickly as well)

The general rule being white with chicken, fish and the sweetest whites with deserts, and red with beef, lamb and so on.....it really is a lot of fun getting to know what you like, what goes with what and so on......and learning that names like 'Late picked verdehlo' means that the wine will be sweeter than a normal verdehlo because of the late picking of the grape.....

Really, despite the best efforts of wine snobs the world over, it ultimately boils down to what you and your taste buds really get off on.....that's the bottom line.

Allow me to recommend a nice Unwooded Chardonnay next time you have a chicken meal, and perhaps a lightly spiced Shiraz when you have a steak next.

Good luck and have fun!!!

Ah, finally I've made it back in here! I wasn't able to access the site nor both of the forums. Could not connect. I read something about a server attack and an upgrade. I don't know what exactly has been upgraded but it is working for me! Thank you, Andrew!

Say Kenny, when you're at that... do you spit or swallow? Which is it, baby?

Of finding the right wine for the right food, so far I've never had the luck of finding a great combination. But then I don't drink much wine to begin with... Strangely enough, I did have such an experience with beer though, when I got a Belgian beer that was served with a small plate of cheese. The cheese and beer enhanced eachothers flavours so well. That was extremely delicious! I know wine can do that too... I just never experienced something with wine to that extent.

It was more of a curiousity question for me. I've considered red wine in the future, because it's one of the very few products out there that raises good cholestorol.

But the one thing I do know, is sparkline wine is flat out nasty! I made the mistake of trying some and I gagged for minutes on end. I don't know how the folks can drink it. I'll drink a Milwankee's Best beer before I'll ever touch sparkling wine (MB is the American equivilent of piss if you're wondering. Don't drink...ever.)

There's another one? Isn't Budweiser regarded to be just that? :?

Yes it is. But MB is watered-down piss. At least with Bud you get the full flavor of piss.

Hi boys & gals!

I had to go to the dentist to pull out a wisdom tooth, yesterday. It was horrible, this is the third one and I sincerely hope it's the last one that has to be removed.

Anyone for a nice game of Russian Roulette? :D

Thomasha, I know what you've been through, it is indeed horrible.
Are you on a diet of fluids now? I was afraid of eating anything the first days! Fortunately it all heals quickly.

Get well soon! :)

Oh the pain of dealing with such philistines.....

Actually, it really depends on what I have in my mouth.....I tend to gargle!! Actually, if, and I know it's a big if, you were referring to wine, I never 'spit' - I think that is awfully pretentious, not to mention a waste of good wine!!

Of course professional wine judges 'swill and spit' because they would be under the fucking table if they didn't!!!

Good day, everyone.

I don't even want to think about it. I know for fact I will have to go within a few years. They should pay US for enduring pain, not the other way around.

Hi again everybody!

Thanks for the kind words, it's been a week since I had that wisdom tooth pulled out! Yes, it was as horrible as always! Funny thing is that the dentist knew I was gonna perform later that same day, in the evening: Thomas, please don't eat in the coming hours and whatever you do, don't drink! I stayed completely sober!

Funny how medical practices change, eh? Some 35 years ago, when my old man had his wisdoms pulled out, they actually recommended drinking booze with the pain killers...the doctors were surprised he even woke up at all!

Hello again!

How's everybody doin'? I'm back from a weekend in Stockholm, got my Les Paul back from a headstock crack repair. The guy did an amazing job, as you can hardly see it's been broken.

It's a spring celebration here in Sweden tonight but there's still snow left!

Thomasha, what happened to your guitar? Did you go in Ritchie Blackmore mode on stage that you broke it, or was it something less violent?

Even though there is snow, enjoy the spring celebration! ;) Warmer weather is about to arrive!
