Red13joepa has BA's latest CD and he I think has TOTO's.

Let him decide.

Well, not that easy....they both dont really fall into the same genre...BA is more stright out rock...Toto never does 1 particular genre in most of their albums ( KOD, Isolation being exceptions )....they usually are a mix of rock/jazz....

IMO, Room Service is by far the best Melodic CD of the year. Blows away Generations.

THAT, I agree with you my friend...

NMT, 2005, Bryan Adams sold these numbers in the USA and Canada:

Actual/Capacity

Vancouver- GM PLace, 19,455/19,455
Kamloops- Memorial Arena 12,500/12/500
Edmonton-Rexall Place 15,333/17,500
Calgary -Saddledome 17,900/17,900
Winnipeg- Sask Arena- 14,521/14,700
Toronto- Air Canada Centre 20,010/19,500
Montreal- Molson Centre- 22,000/22,000

These were the dates he went on his own w/o DL

I know TOTO isn't doing those numbers.

Hell, Journey isn't either.

Well In Europe Toto could do this numbers and still do in fact.

If Toto only played for example only the main cities or capital citiss in Europe they could easally do 15 000 - 20 000

But on thier tours They also playes these smaller cities so they have shows between 4 000 - 18 000.

But anyway why even bother who's selling most tickets anyway you go for listening to the music, right not looking at all people. And you get a special bond to the band if there's a smaller Venue to.

For example I saw Toto at the Globe Arena in Stockholm wich is a large Venue and I had bad tickets thats wasen't to fun, And another concert By Toto in Gothenbourg on thier summer tour 2000 there was about 25 000 attending. But at one of thies summer tours I did catch them at a Castle and you really got this conection with the band.

Btw, You know Bryan Adams could have been singer in Toto!! Yea its true for those who didn't know that.

But he turned it down becouse he's own careerer was going great!!

So none of these are in the US, same as with Toto and they do a much greater number of shows in Europe with with comparable numbers every year.

THIS does matter to me. To me, Bryan Adams' band is just a better band.

He can play lead guitar, rythm guitar, and up until last year, he was playing bass guitar. Keith Scott is phenominal at lead guitar.

I know Toto is talented but fuck, come on? There isn't shit in their catalog to be compared to Adams catalogue(which I previouslt had proved was as good if NOT better than Journey's), and a page ago, you were comparing Toto to not only BA, but to the Man himself, Bruce. That dude has a catalog three times deeper than Journey, so what does that tell you. Back to Adams, he got pussified in the 90's, but now is back.

I wish Andrew would have reviewed Room Service, because it would have been a 95, 96 out of 100. But Drew is biased and would have given Toto a 97 just to piss me off.

Toto sells out arenas, just not in the US. Where is Adams selling arenas out? Can't deny Springsteen's success, still don't care for him, in a league with Dylan and Neil Young to my ears.

Christ, for as revered as he is, I've bumped up against NOBODY in here who likes Dylan. I can't STAND his music, either. I'm also w/ NMT on Neil Young as well. What the hell's to like? Deano, another Cannuck, Do you like Young?

No. Not really. He is a bitter Canuck. I don't like Dylan either. he can't sing for shit. I don't know why Bruce loves him so much.

Leave it to "ballsinmymouth Dave28" to research the thread and come up with it.

I don't think Andrew is correct here.

Andrew, mate? Go back and do a re-eval on Room Service vs Generations. And I want an HONEST view this time.

These two CD's aren't even close.

I am not necessarily a fan of Dylan's voice, but the man is a poet; he has written some socially poignant and profound lyrics.

They say ev'rything can be replaced,
Yet ev'ry distance is not near.
So I remember ev'ry face
Of ev'ry man who put me here.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released.

They say ev'ry man needs protection,
They say ev'ry man must fall.
Yet I swear I see my reflection
Some place so high above this wall.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released.

Standing next to me in this lonely crowd,
Is a man who swears he's not to blame.
All day long I hear him shout so loud,
Crying out that he was framed.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released.
Until we meet again, may God
Hold you in the palm of his hand.

It's funny how Bruce looks up to and repects Dylan, and he is 100 times the writer, poet and singer as Bobby boy. Come on Lula, "41 shots" is a perfect example of how good Bruce can write.

I will see your "I Shall Be Released", and raise you "41 Shots."

41 shots
41 shots
41 shots....
and we'll take that ride
'cross this bloody river
to the other side
41 shots... cut through the night
You're kneeling over his body in the vestibule
Praying for his life

Is it a gun, is it a knife
Is it a wallet, this is your life
It ain't no secret
It ain't no secret
No secret my friend
You can get killed just for living
In your American skin

41 shots
Lena gets her son ready for school
She says "on these streets, Charles
You've got to understand the rules
If an officer stops you
Promise you'll always be polite,
that you'll never ever run away
Promise Mama you'll keep your hands in sight"

Is it a gun, is it a knife
Is it a wallet, this is your life
It ain't no secret
It ain't no secret
No secret my friend
You can get killed just for living
In your American skin

Is it a gun, is it a knife
Is it in your heart, is it in your eyes
It ain't no secret

41 shots... and we'll take that ride
'Cross this bloody river
To the other side
41 shots... got my boots caked in this mud
We're baptized in these waters and in each other's blood

Is it a gun, is it a knife
Is it a wallet, this is your life
It ain't no secret
It ain't no secret
No secret my friend
You can get killed just for living
In your American skin

Didn't Dylan record a song, "Lay lady Lay....something about his big brass bed..."? (lol).

Yep - lyrics from a genius. NOT!

If you remember the video of the making of We are the World - isn't Springsteen one of the few that are urging Dylan to sing when he didn't want to record his part? I know there were several that were very supportive of Dylan at that time - I just can't remember which ones they were!

NO! I have a better one. This lyric has always bugged the shit out of me in an otherwise GREAT song:

Stay with me, I need you so
Don't you ever leave, baby, please don't go
'Cause there's something here in all this confusion
Maybe I'll give to you a blood transfusion

HUH?

.38 Special is Skynyrd lite!

Man...I had to chime in here...call them what you want...but they are seriously one of the best southern-rock bands ever...period...Chain Lightenin', Teacher Teacher, Hold on Loosely...and anything with "Don Barnes"...Great playing, great song writing,....

I know you're f'ing with me right? Do I really get into the Skynard bashin'?? The late 80's stuff is kinda bad, but then there are great tracks throughout their entire career...
