Favorite Journey-esque Band/Artist

There's many bands out there today that are almost Journey clones, if not very inspired by Journey. Who are some of your favorites and why?

My 2 favorites are Frontline and Valentine. Both bands have very Perry-like vocals, but at the same time, have a slightly harder edge musically

Train. That's the only one I can even remotely compare to Journey's sound.

Funny you say Train Dean'o
I don't think they sound the same but I do
get the same energized feeling when I listen to
them as I do hearing Journey.
Also the only two bands that my Dad cared for
that I enjoy.

Well I meant Train because they are vocal oriented band. And they are semi polished, with a moderate tempo.

Seriously, how many bands out there(of known importance), can say they sound like Journey? And would want to sound like Journey?

I don't know to many that capture that feeling
or sound but I read that Josh Grobin's fave singer
or one of is Steve Perry.
That boy does a damn fine version of Oh Holy Night
(not meaning sideline this thread)

Final Frontier sounds pretty Journey-esque.Rob Moratti, the lead singer, is very high-pitched ....I just wonder how long will he last.

Dream Theatre. Great vocals, very progressive and lyrically oriented.

About 5+ years ago they did a cover CD and 'Lovin Touchin Squeezin' was included on it.

If you are not familiar with the band The CD Images & Word is the place to start. They are really good!!!!!

Here is my inevitable plug for Shy. Check out their MySpace page. Careful if you are at work - it plays music. Make sure you listen to anything except "Break Down the Walls".

I just LOVE that album! James LaBrie admitted he is influenced by Steve Perry so there you go!
But let`s face it,DT and Journey are apples and oranges.

Triumph for sure does have that Journey sound
Magic Power could have SO been a Journey Jem.

I thought the question was "what band today, has the Journey sound?"

Your correct here's your prize.....(handing Dean'o a tin whistle)
now get off my backside you and the boys sidetrack all the time.
And I do believe I was speaking to Vladan in agreeing with
his reply.

Oh... I also have to add Hugo to my list. His first solo cd was awesome. The rockers reminded me alot of Journey as well as the ballads. His newer stuff has gotten a little slow for my tasted, but he still has verry-Perry vocals and emotion.
