Now, I'm gonna go listen to Toronto.

The Vegas vox were done over by Elson with either pro-tools or whatever, after the show was done and before it went to issue.

However, theses songs are thieved, from Vegas.

Deano, if you're asking us to compare the Vegas vocals before they were Pro-Tooled or polished, that's impossible. We don't have access to those vocals. I can't speculate what was done in post.

I compared the Greek and Toronto Ask The Lonely vox and they sound different to me.

Well Deano, for what it's worth, Thanks for sharing your theory.

But, I still believe that Steve is singing most of the songs live.

Yep. Wouldn't surprise me if they call up Andrew and tell him to shut it down now.

Here's how it will try to be spun:

"We really don't want a few bad apples lying about what we do at our concert. So do us a favor Andrew and shut it down."

Will they call Andrew and tell him this? I DON'T KNOW. However I do believe this is probable.

Postby Seven Wishes » Wed May 24, 2006 2:15 pm

I am a classically trained musician with degrees from the Hartt School of Music in Composition and Vocal Performance. I don't want to be accused of "name dropping" or somesuch, but I feel that background information is elemental to the assertions I'm about to make. I've been recording since the age of 13; half of my family went to Julliard; I've performed and recorded (albeit with mediocrity) for the past 25 years. And so on, and so forth...

I'll spare you the exhaustive and masturbatory technical explanations; suffice it to say that this debate will continue to rage until someone can access the CIA's $50 billion pattern regognition system. My two cents? My favourite band, the very reason I fell in love with music in the first place, has been cheating us for a while now. Deano is right; the verdict isn't out on this one for me anymore. I'm shattered.

"Live" from the greek. This is thieved from the fuckin' CD!

Tell me it's not.

CD.No doubt about it.This time it was enough to listen once to both versions.Identical.What`s to explain? My ear says the sound of the "live" recording is flawless.Plastic.Artificial.There is NO such thing,no matter how proffesional the band could be.
It simply lacks the "warmth" of the live rendition. It's so...44kHz,if you know what I mean.
Sorry guys,I can`t even say which one is which because both songs are from the same CD.

Are you guys nuts? The phrasing's different! The space between words is different.

I could tell from the first verse! "This distance between us" and "These days we're drifting apart"

Not to mention he doesn't hold notes at the ends of each line as long as on the CD, especially noticeable in the first chorus. This is even further bunk from the ATL samples.

Totally debunked. Dean, if this is what you've had, all this time, you were lied to.

I don't know the answer to this, and I want to respect Andrews' wishes to "move On" but I can't wait to see who twitches first.

I believe McNeice has a backbone....He always has.

Thanks Nora! A dear friend of mine pretty much suggested the same thing you did (he has been taking voice lessons for as long as I can remember). I so appreciate your thoughts on this! Thank you again!

I'm in the same corner with Red13 & NIG.

You guys can trash Augeri all you want - and you've given those that have been against him from the beginning more ammo to say "see, we were right"!

You can listen to those boots over and over and over. The more someone puts that snipit of doubt in your mind, the more you are going to 'hear' what you want to hear.

Go for it and believe what you will. Hasn't stopped me from buying my ticket to see Journey here in the Tampa Bay area in July.

Peace to all and Journey On.

Don't spoil it for the rest of us. Geez, is there anyone with talent that can sing live anymore. Are there tracks to help out the other members of the band as well? That would just be disgraceful.

I dont hear it. The songs sound similiar but to say its a tape is a HUGE stretch. Again, they( Journey) are pros they should sound alike every night.

I own two quality boots from the Raised On Radio Tour. The songs on it sound very similiar live. Did Steve Perry lip sync?? I HIGHLY doubt it.

Is Journey now?? I also doubt it.

Let me ask one thing if they do, do you think Steve Perry knows?? If they do and Steve knows dont you think he would blow the whistle on them?? It is VERY VERY much his music they are playing. That is the biggest reason I do NOT believe this post. Steve P. would say something if it were true!!

Why would you think Steve Perry would blow the whistle on Augeri??? I don't think Perry would do that, he is busy doing his OWN thing.

Yogi with all do respect I disagree.
Perry gets paid either way why would he give a sheet.
I don't think he would have the say in weather or not
they are enhancing(I'm being nice) the music.
He is no longer with them, just collects royalties.

Steve Perry would blow the whistle because it is his voice that orginally made these songs famous.
Now, you have his replacement singer, singing his songs. Then Steve Perry finds out this guy REALLY isnt even singing them live. If this were true Steve P. would say something. Royalities or not in my eyes its toooo much of slam. It would TRULY hurt the name of the band Journey.

For whatever reason its gotta hurt knowing someone else is now singing your songs. If the guy who replaced you really wasnt actually singing them and you knew you would say something.

I have never been divorced but I would compare it this. You agree to a divorce, then you find out something really bad about the guy your ex wife is now married to. If I still cared at all for my ex wife I know I would say something.

Steve Perry still cares about Journey!!!

It is for that very reason I DONT believe it is true!

I agree that Perry cares about the MUSIC & the time period HE was in the band, but I would think He would have to be attending Journey's concerts in order to know if Augeri was lip synching or not.

Now do you think Perry would attend Journey's concerts?
