Becaue Paul Rogers can still sing and Perry can't.
Free wrote:Fair enough. But I would want to hear Perry sing one last time even though his voice is not good now.
Shadowman wrote:Wrong again, Monker. I'm a huge BadCo fan, and I saw them a number of times a few years back. Rogers' voice is shot to hell. Did you hear him with "Queen"? Come on. Call us when the shuttle lands, Monker.
Free wrote:Everyone seems to think that Journey is done if they get rid of Augeri. Why? Look at Bad Company for example. Their orignal lead singer left then they got a 2nd lead singer. He left then they got a 3rd that sounded almost identical to the original lead singer.

Shania wrote:Paul Rodgers is such a great singer. He's got some unique pipes and he certainly does a great job with Queen."The Return Of The Champions" is one of my top 5 favourite live shows.I heard an interview with him awhile ago and he was so humble and classy --among other things he said the main reason why he and Queen got together was because of the great chemistry they had the minute they started playing together and the pleasure of singing. It really shows if you ask me!

<---Still waiting for Free to tell me who the third Bad Co singer was.

I like Bad Company, both versions without him-ERIC
You are kidding. Right?
EightyRock wrote:Robert Hart. He sounded enough like Rodgers to be constantly compared, but not really a suitable replacement. Sound familiar?

I'll assume he also sang on Company of Strangers as well. He must not have been THAT memorable, obviously.

does the same feeling apply to Ready For Love?
I love that one to.

He never displayed the range or diaphragm control that Steve did to sing all those llllooooonnnngggg high notes that Steve used night after night. The Journey music style and versatility along with the arduous touring schedule are what got to Steve's voice, not just the singing. If Steve had the incentive or impetus to get his voice back in shape I have no doubt that he could sound as good, if not better than, Paul.
